ULOG 24: Monday Minnow Tips is Late!

This is not my fault! I realize it is now Wednesday, but after steemit went down on Monday, my whole schedule went out the window.

Monday Minnow Tips - New Ideas even if I am Late

I have some new ideas for steemit success this week. Last week in this space I ran a contest for SBI Shares and asked people to give me their good ideas for getting upvotes on our posts. Today I will recap the information I found out and let you know what I am doing about them. At this point it’s a lot of research.

In this post, I am only mentioning new ideas and giving a short discussion of them

@steem-ua

Steem-ua is the big winner of the week and of steemit these days it seems like. Many of our favorite whales, dolphins, and big minnows are very excited! They are posting their scores and telling how great the votes are. All the other big guys vote heavily on these happy posts and say metoo!

I have barely looked into this complicated scheme, but it looks like you delegate sp to these people and then get votes based on some algorithm they have. The higher you score on this thing, the bigger your upvote.

It replaces the “reputation score” with something else and guess what?! All the same big guys are still at the top lol. For some reason, you can only see the top 100 big guys and then login to see your own crap score. Why the whole rest of steemit is hidden is a mystery to me.

Under this plan a big guy who delegates 25 sp will get a bigger vote than a minnow who delegates 25 sp. Seems legit! God knows those whales need all the minnow support they can get!

EDIT!!! I heard from someone is discord who said the amount you delegate have nothing to do with the vote got get. The votes is based on your post and the engagement you get on it.

I went into the discord channel for @steem-ua and browsed some posts. Like I said, the big guys are thrilled and the little guys don’t understand it.

I will probably delegate 25 sp for myself and for @bxlphabet. I am 5000 points ahead of him in the @steem-ua points race, so I will be able to see how much this matters. I’m thinking he will be ripped off in comparison to me. With this delegation, we will each get one vote a week, so, Yay! I am always thrilled with any vote I get.

But, “Go Whales!” I am on your team although you have only voted for me a few times with 1% in the last year and a half. @trufflepig loves me and that’s really all that matters.

@incinboost is new to me and mentioned a couple of times on my post last week. Apparently it is a better deal than SBI. @mmunited gave some math about it and I will look further. I will be happy to have another vote, no matter what.

I have not heard of this before and will look into it. Absolutely no idea what it is.

Following Curation Trails

@dynamicsteemians @altruisticbot and many more.

A couple of people mentioned joining curation trails so that you in turn get upvotes from said curation trail. I have never joined one for a few reasons.

First, is that I have yet to see one that does this right:

This idea here is to have the big guys vote last so that the little guys get some benefit from the trail. Most do the opposite and have the big guys vote first. I do get some votes from curation trails, and I am going to send this post to them again – and maybe repeatedly until they get their act together.

Another reason I do not follow trails is that I already vote enough. I hang at out around 90% power most of the time. I rarely get to 100% and I rarely get below 85%. So I don’t really have votes to give – especially not automatically when I cannot predict the behavior. I would not be happy to wake up at 70% one day because someone's bot broke.

Another reason I have not joined these trails is that they seem to lead to many 0.000 value votes coming onto my posts. I am not in favor of voting for no reason. However, If I would GET votes of any value by doing this, I might be up for it.

Get involved in communities

I believe this idea is about getting into Discord groups. I had trouble even adding Discord to my computer for a long time, and then when I did, I still did not join any groups there. This was a very bad idea and now I am so happy to be in many discord groups. My participation in Discord has resulted in a lot more comments and upvotes.

Get involved in guilds

I am not sure what these are. I have not seen one here that I remember.

I've discussed this in the past several times but usually involving things like cleaners and garbage collectors. Every discussion reached the same conclusions - the jobs that are considered dirty, dangerous and low status would become the highest paying work that society had to offer.
