ULOG: Grateful for my Life's Path

in #ulog7 years ago (edited)

Hello Uloggers, welcome to my blog, today's ulog is for my gratitude challenge. Well today started with me sleeping the most part of it, I'm still at home, holiday stuff....well when I finally got up from the bed, and after doing all necessary stuffs, I had some time to reflect and thank God for how my life has turned out. Well it's very far from perfect, if you look closely, all you might see is gloominess, but I'm grateful for just how things have turned out and if given the opportunity to go back in time, I will certainly do something's differently, but I would still choose this path. I'm not the type that reveal things, but I'm changing that and I'm telling you just how things are, for you are my fans and I'm the celebrity, same way I'm also your fan and you are a celebrity. Below are how or the way my life would have turned out, at different instances:

  • At age 7, I would have being taken to Indian with my parents, but Mom and Dad wasn't willing to go work as servants in a foreign land, so we stayed. I didn't have much of a say in this, but the little memory I have of it was when Mom came home with lots of foreign stuffs and she and Dad had the discussion. I was later told what that discussion was about when I did come of age.
  • After Secondary school, I didn't pass the Post UTME exam (University Entrance Exam), so instead of staying at home, I decided to join the military, but that didn't work out, that's because one of the documents which I was to submit states that should the participate dies, his/her parents/guardian have no right to the body or something like that, can't precisely remember the exact words used. Mom won't sign, Dad too refused to sign. So it turned out that didn't happened too. Though quite frankly this is the only path I feel isn't totally closed, I still want to serve my country.
  • At 19, I had a scholarship to study in Ukraine, but during the time, when I was sent the mail, it was a period where I wasn't having access to the internet and by the time I would see the mails, it has already gone past the deadline. So again, I didn't walk that path.
  • I had series of admission, from Guidance and Counseling in OOU (Olabisi Olabanjo University) to Petroleum Engineering in Edo State Polytechnic to Uniport Mining Technology, all of which came at different year of attempting JAMB.
  • Finally to the path that I'm walking, I'm a current student of OSUSTECH, studying Industrial Chemistry, though it's being one hell of a journey with complications from home, and even school troubles, but I will choose this path again and again, a thousand time over, for it's the path that has brought me across so many wonderful people, including my steemit journey and I'm grateful for each and everyone that has been a part of my journey. This path surely leads to greatness, this I know for sure.

So on this 50th day of gratitude challenge, I'm grateful for the path I'm walking, grateful for how my life has turned out. If I could go back I'm time, surely there are things I would have done better, things I wouldn't have done. But still it would have been on this path.
