Conservatives are doing well in council by-elections
The Tories arn't doing that well in opinion polls, but in council by-elections, where real people vote, they are holding their own.
Aggregate Seat Results of the 180 Council By-Elections (for 184 Seats) Since the 2024 General Election:
LAB: 66 (-28)
CON: 50 (+24)
LDM: 34 (=)
GRN: 8 (+2)
RFM: 7 (+7)
IND: 9 (-2)
SNP: 6 (-1)
PLC: 2 (=)
LOC: 2 (-2)
Here is how the vote-share breaks down:
LAB: 24.4% (-8.6)
CON: 23.5% (+0.4)
LDM: 18.5% (+3.3)
GRN: 9.4% (+0.6)
RFM: 7.8% (+7.5)
SNP: 7.5% (-2.4)
PLC: 0.7% (+0.0)
Others: 8.2% (-0.9)
This would result in a hung parliament.
