Review: Spam fritters

in #uk7 days ago

I recently tried a new food

I really like Spam, which is a processed canned meat, which I think is a mixture of ground pork, ham and is quite salty! It's not really healthy to have too often, but it really satisfies that salty palate.
I know that some fry it, eat it straight out the can, or do something like spam musubi.

So, when I saw this 'Spam fritters' box in a local shop, I just had to try it out! I hadn't seen a frozen meal that includes spam like this before, so my interest was peaked !!

The box

The box comes with 4 of these small fritters, which are just battered fried spam.

instructions

I know the image is quite small, but the instructions were quite simple, and I fortunately had access to an air fryer! Meaning I only had to cook it for 10 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.

the frozen fritters

The above picture is of the frozen fritters before I cooked them, it was a bit disappointing how small they were to be honest for such a big box.

Alongside my spam fritters, I had some waffle fries and bbq sauce (I know, not that healthy). As you can see, the inside of the fritter is super pink. If this wasn't spam, I would have been super worried with how pink they are! But, spam is typically very pink!

Overall

It was kind of disappointing because of how small the fritters are, the box came with 4 but you had to have 2 in order to fill your stomach. So these definitely wouldn't last long. Not only that, but the spam 'taste' got quite lost.
But! I really enjoyed trying out something new, and they were still tasty regardless!

Thank you for reading!
