Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov ends in Chaos

in #ufc6 years ago

The long-awaited UFC Lightweight Title Fight with Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov occurred just now, I wish I could give you more details about the fight and what happened after now but I think I will do you all a favor to just let you watch it instead.

I uploaded this video snip I found of the end of the fight and what happened after to my youtube for easier viewing through embedding.

The President of UFC Dana White said that he will not give him the belt then and there cause else everyone will start doing the same thing and that there could be even more chaos ensuing after that from the fans. It is still pretty unclear what is going to happen after this, if Khabib will receive a match ban, if they will revoke his rights to visit the U.S or other charges regarding what transpired. Same thing goes about the two other people associated with Khabib that stepped onto the ring to suckerpunch Conor after the fight was already over.

One thing is clear that not many expected this to happen and said it was very uncharacteristic by Khabib who usually can control his actions pretty well.

What is funny though is that in a recent interview with Joe Rogan, Brendan Schaub predicted that something like this would occur (jump to 7:33 in case the link doesn't do it automatically):

Did any of you watch the fight? What do you think will happen next?

Khabib Team Member who jumped Conor after the fight being arrested:

Will connor be arrested, because he threw a first punch in the octagon after Khabib jumped on that bitch Danis? I guess not, but it will be interesting to see how much Connie is protected by UFC

All I could think of was that fake professional wrestling shit. It was just like that at the end there, complete with the over-the-top reactions and fights breaking out.

I guess Khabib's boys actually got arrested now, so... it's probably not staged? I don't know. Still could be. I don't trust the media... xD... but yeah, I'd be surprised if there wasn't some pretty big trouble about this. Bans, stripped title... jailtime? Who knows.

I was pulling for Khabib and I hate to agree with the super weaksauce commentators but he really should have kept his composure. If this is real and not staged... he dun GOOFED!

Oh well, what Conor has pulled off in the past is still way worse than what Khabib did.

What his team mates did though is the worst, period. You don't suckerpunch someone who literally got tapped out 10 seconds ago.

Yep, it's proper fucked, but those dudes are going to jail. Not to legitimise the state or nothin'. Just sayin'.

Hope Khabib catches a break, if he doesn't well... he was a fuckin' moron and lost his composure so it's on him.

Hell no! Those sucker punches seems real to me, it's not WWE lol but well I'm sure that punch had a cogent reason

I still can't believe what I just saw, that was cray. Some WWF type shit

Bring on the rematch.

Madness indeed but thanks to both for extending the fight to another match.

As usual Dana White wins.

Addendum: they will get visas. Trump is a fan of UFC. In fact, he even twice (iirc) hosted UFC.

Yeah, dunno the tapout seemed a bit shady to me. He seemed to have his jaw in between, the commentator mentioned it as well at the time.

I practiced jiu jitsu. Yes he had his jaw in between. But this is called short choke. And I experienced it once and believe me, you tap like a mothafucker there because it is displacing your jaw or it is a neck crank, it is not choking you..

I think the tapout was partially also “TKO”. McGregor didn’t really show up against the Mayweather of MMA.

Great Twitter feed of Daniel Cormier. It got personal, Khabib took some of the buildup personal. It’s cultural.

The video seems to have been blocked on copyright grounds immediately i clicked to watch just now really, However I think Khabib felt even defeated before the match, I don't know what really went on, something must have sparked up the emotion of this usually calm guy (Khabib) but I wait to hear from O'Connor and the offical statement but Indy thing is certain Khabib may been banned from fighting in the US

Oh, that's pretty lame. Let me find another source.

Check the comment at the top now.

Definitely I see it now, thank you @acidyo

Bunch of animals. Acting like this after winning that important fight. Khabib and hes team is just stupid. Conor will be victim in this situation even if Khabib won.

Why did I only bet $50 on Khabib, now I wish I bet $500 at least :)

I agree with Brendan from the Joe Rogan interview. A fight was gonna happen outside the ring no matter who won. A lot of heated up tensions between fans + personal and team hatred. In this case the coach of team Conor got the 1st punch. If it wasn't for that there would be some other excuse for fighting and more publicity around the whole thing.

Chaos indeed..
But one thing is for sure that the match was one-sided.
Connor's reign is over

Nate ended that looooong time ago

i have been catching up with the heat of this news, lately khabib said arabic words like InsAllah saying i know you don't like it to outrage them the audience and sure was booed by the audiance in the press confrence so i knew some sort of beef was going on and something was going to happen. didn't watch the fight but sure am going to, thanks for the update. and the video is blocked because of copyright issue so can't watch it.in the end conor was defeated but you give what you get, he sent a figter to hospital attacking his bus and got prohibation for it,talks shit about khabib and his religion. i think for a bright fighter like khabib they shouldn't ban him unless they are scared of defeat, the outcome is clear and winner is winner. his actions at the end were wrong still.
