Caves of Qud : where was i ?

its been a while again ... two characters passed very quick after the last one but all kinds of stuff prevented a simple session of night-gaming ... no idea how but i seem to be running around a lot and get nothing done but meniality. If we werent immunized to depression in the same way the brain has blocked fear, worrying and also dopamine i think (to the point where i fear parkinsons at the age of 60 like my cousin has and my uncle had .... NOT PLEASANT THAT ONE MIND YOU - tho i have to think that being the poison and the void we are we might get past that . Life wouldnt let us off that fast , we have decades of pain to go ...)

euhm ... umm, well everything in this place is a trigger

So finally get to sit down for a bit of turnbased weirdness ??? the last character was an ESPer with nice traits to boot ... narcolepsy is one of the loller ones to get i think but that spacetime vortex thing was even better, HAD TO try it right away, ended up somewhere halfway the world map and got eaten by some kind of hi-level slime or ooze in one turn ... the most short-lived one ever ...

Actually my batteries got burned about five minutes after waking up. It looks like its gonna be a groendal-summer, crackbaby-density per m³ is already higher than usual and they're coming out of the woodwork early ...

Not really my problem, but they can be really noisy and they disturb my good little friend (after all psychopath garbage pail kids aint scared of cats so they're totally harassable)

and that i warned them years ago, if you dont stop now it'l never go away i'll be stuck with it until i can get out of this place or things are solved (in a way thats probably not legal and more methodical to the sicilians) ... so if i wake up and a car that doesnt live here is in front of the house , GOUS ONT GEEVEN, its immediate flash to "Ah , its jeremy de neger and the garbage pail kids met klaxongmongool en vroemvroem-billie, voor te lachen , in samenwerking met "de familje we zellen em nekiejer" as wel as de lokale politie" ... you have to let the children play ...

Never in my life would i have voluntarily come back to this place ... so yea thats the reaction and ofcourse i go see what it is

ITS NOT LIKE I DID ANYTHING, RIGHT ? i bet it was someone dropping someone off or something but my reaction is a reflexive trigger

besides, i bet if it was WE standing in front of someones door past midnight humming even without a car the police van would be there in no time, by the threes asking what im doing there ...

but bem ... Qud has been "one of those" games it seems, even in this sorry state we're in ... After gaming since ataripaddles and yars revenge it kinda died out a little. I think around when i gave my world of warcraft account to my super-strange GF ... (also : we have always specialized in destructive relationships and i bet if WE would have gotten stuck with a run of the mill normal people housewife, the woman would have gone mental just the same anyway ... we're not easy to decipher to anyone who doesnt live in janes ondergrond and fuckers always see the world from their small point, they dont think of the words you say as coming from you, they think as coming from them which means in most cases : guilt, shame, fear, the three buttons rulers since Xerxes have used to keep the peasants down ...

where was i ? AH! yea, she didnt like computer-games, and fantasy even less, with the pointy ears and all that, then after i gave her that WoW account b/c i was more or less done gaming, nothing spoke anymore after a while i could like go away for two hours or more without her noticing and had to drag her to the bedroom screaming rape just to get a little anymore ...

She reall really liked that game ... hmmm

so gaming was ded, then i saw a trailer for Dark souls on this program called "gunk" when we was dining at the folks on tv and i was like OMFG I NEED THAT FOR MY EPIC

and yes i did, and since then very few have dragged us into their world ... dark souls obviously, i still swear by the first but played all of them, 100%ed too xept for elden ring , there was Ark Evolved and a few gems like Othercide , banner saga and the cat lady that totally dragged me in ...

Qud can still take me out of this place

This time we went for the tinkering type

Had to play even more careful than before as this glass cannon is more like svarovsky - the first levels it was more running that hitting while doing hit&run but we got to lvl 11 again so far, one level down from the highest we have gotten it until now

There's still no lack of weirdness

after discovering the sanctity of democracy ....

i could write another sixpage post about just that i guess, HONESTLY : does anyone know ONE , true participative democracy on this planet ?

the only ones i know are soviet democracies like belgium and europe, or particracies, like belgium and europe and america ...

i never forget that day when some guy in a game chat was talking on how "George Washington invented democracy" ... i bet he did that with Jesus right ?

no offense to the believers but DUDE ... there's certain things in life , I.N.R.I. was a brown jew who was born into the world and nailed to a board as a a sign of love by his old man .... and i think the ancient greeks pulled one over on washington before the Christ created the world

Apart from that

Welll, the guy has stats through the roof tho i bet they go a lot higher since its only level 11 (got like 27 int and what not) , got a DV (dodge value) of 16 and and AV (armour) of only 2 ...

i skimped on the ego as i now know water is a lot easier to get than i thought at first but death lurks around every corner, even just now i went for "you find ruins do you want to explore" ... ah no you find TOWN ... and end up in a zone with hostile farmers trying to stick me on their pitchforks

(everywhere the witch ...)

only to find out that Joppa Recoiler you get from the quest from the blacksmith

does not work with hostiles nearby

so even less in combat ... had to eat some psychedelic wafers (the only HP potion i know of so far, but they make you confused so the map looks different and there might be walls or enemies where you see a blank spot ... like QUD-acid !
Tho this char has the stats and a perk (i think i picked that) to have better saving throws against tripping and spacing out so it worked

i mass-murdered all the farmers (hey THEY started it ... i was just passing by)

and sold all their belongings and children (o no, ... i havent seen children in Qud, they must not breed much ...) sold all their gear to the dromad merchant who, as always , didnt ask questions where i got all that

... i was thinking "hmmm maybe we need one of those in a few years the way these regions are going"

Flint, michigan always comes to mind somehow, ... dont ask me why that

but Ghost Town or Bogota seems further and marseilles or chicago is too rich

FLINT ! ... we feel somehow thats the most likely for the dark timeline of this place (and the light one has been fading)

i need to get me one of these

... so we go, Glass Cannon (most of the time), super dodge high dps, but cant take two hits or flat as a pancake. Always loved playing the casters in mmos too, high firepower low hp tho as guild leader we always got stuck with the cleric/ healer role ...

we, the guild-leader ... feels about as far as we the social worker who almost got to getting out of here

Glass cannons , (sunrakuuu!) ... even my DS3 main char had not put ONE point in hitpoints until all magic and cleric spell point where maxed out ,and then some dex to get a few weapons but actually the magic weapon types had so high output that a fully upgraded broad sword scaled so much with int it was gud for the bosses

as here , the tinkers have nice stuff they can do but i cant do anything of it yet xept break down artefacts for bits and repair stuff or recharge batteries

where to find the bits to make gun turrets (a skill you start out with but i cant put them b/c i have none) no idea but as with the others i think we covered about 1% of the map again

... not good for commerce huh ?

maybe if you left us a life or gave that work from home before we broke and sharded ... NAAH WE STILL WOULDNT PAY EIGHTY FUCKING EUROS FOR DOOM YOU WANKER ...

€50 ... but today even that is too much ...

good thing Qud will last a while (majeyal is free or donate so we'll see that in a few months)

maybe the vorlons land and wipe the planet or

the other ones and earth-gov takes us to space and we all can have something again but by then even a future will be too late for this one

good thing by the credo of the catstar hope is one of the gates to hell
