after so much time we sit down to have a small session while things are quiet and nothing seems to be attacking the brain.

you can actually play lamer or weakling mode if you want but i think permadeath is the only way to go. This character was superweak physically so getting it to lvl 6 took a whole lot of grinding pumpkins (and running away 3 times per fight at 40% hp) and fish.
The idea was to have "Mom" (nice name) drop down a hole in Golgotha so i know what happens before i would continue the play with the "main character" , because ded is ded and you get no re-try
I like that, its very 80s and actually requires to to make conscious decisions, its probably not for everyone and the world of Qud is weirder than most. The lore-generator probably takes up most of the game's code combined with the procedural maps ofcourse but there's a world story that's recurring too.
From what i read two guys were programming on it for around 15 years before they released it (ofcourse since today is today its been around in early access for quite some time) . Its based on a tabletop game they used to play in a super distant post-apocalyptic dystopian world that mixes magic with tech with psionics in a "somewhat d&d" fashion
Probably one of the last games we'll have forked out on for a long time and no regrets here, as roguelikes go this must be ichiban

i guess we'll roll another one to drop down that hole at golgotha so we can see what happens before we drop our main character deeper into the main quest
i think the funniest and fastest death i had so far was a guy with perk named spacetime distortion or something, which i used from the start, it creates like a gate ,
walked through it and got dissolved by a high level ooze next turn ... shortest session ever.
I guess that concludes the day as well as gaming ... for today and probably for this week unless we get some real quiet but i dont know whats going on, maybe someone thinks
