As good as september

So we might as well jot down a few words ...

Life is going nowhere so we are in no hurry to get there still the most used motto

We can see the world is doing fine without us and it doesnt feel like we have the superpowers needed to fix it so the best we can do is one foot before the other. With the exodus now floor and kitchen management is under our jurisdiction again and we keep busy with things that keep the mind level.

In our case , theres only 2 things : cat and programming

cat :

programming :

the Atari Jaguar has been haunting us :

the platformer is still tearing the screen (on the mister fpga core) but the shmup seems to work so far (its in a more advanced state than the vid but we dont have a new vid yet)

The music used is from a dvd you can download for free named "Twilight" which tried to aggregate about all mods and tunes from the 16bit era (ST/Amiga that means then mostly) 4track, 6track, 8track, .XM, cubase, ... all that stuff and Jagstudio can play 4track mods, the sound is pretty good for a 16bit console if you ask me (we dont think of the Jag as a 64bit console, more like an improved NES or something) but it certainly hasnt been tapped to its potential during its short lifespan ... we can blame all that on Atari. Its the only manual ive ever seen that has a whole chapter detailing "hardware bugs in the system" so developers can work around that, they literally knew and didnt bother fixing it before putting it on the shelves. From a hobbyist bedroom rank amateur noob lamer perspective that makes it very omoshiroi ... like a sinclair QL to a democoder perhaps.

We got an 8 bit Neo6502 and AgonLight 2 as well b/c those are in range of budget where as Atari Falcons are simply nowhere to be found anymore (and the last one i saw went between €7500 and €10k .. even leased ferrari man would think twice about that i bet) as well as a commander X16 or Foenix 68040, including European Santa Taxes on import are pretty much out of reach by now.

We cant program all of it at once ofcourse

As for the music : the programming is ofcourse Janes OnderGrond and if there are any cc0 assets during the build phase most of the gfx will be own-pixels by finalize but the music we might just pick some class tunes from the twilight dvd and credit appropriately. Making a whole soundtrack thats good and draws into the gameplay might be a year by itself otherwise.

If theres any takers to do a soundtrack the size of tempest 2000 (and quality at least) and a consistent sprite-set (hand pixeled, A.I. forbidden) feel free to contact , we cant pay though ... Gwem ? perhaps ? The Sarge maybe (lol yes), or maybe Jason Page ? ah well

dont start naming scene names, if you leave one out they will send death squads on yow-ass

deadline : dead or demented , e.t.a. 2030

After looking at the sky and thinking "thats a nice parallax effect" we thought we have to set it aside for a few sessions ... (see : if we started on the jag six or seven months ago we think in sessions , we had about 18 on the platformer and thats a few hours at best, as we have explained too many times : this non-existing condition leaves very few hours in a day if you want to eat and have a house thats dustmite-allergy proof

so we uncanned stairway to the catstar (must have been more than a month)

didnt edit anything this is a vid of the state we left it it last time .. theres a short description on the youtube vid

AAaand , i think we'll try that here though im not sure its good in 2025 soviet europe ....

Hard to imagine what life would be like if the kid had this in the 1980s ... i mean this is a modern "wifi-modem" but its 8bit-internet, right, it runs on real c64, its got news, BBS'es private and even wikipedia, Eliza and (ofcourse) JIPPEDEE !!! (on a 64 .... but i guess its jippedee even if you only have 40x25 characters of text on screen the back end will be what it is)

havent tried that one though

So since we have 8bit internet now weve been checking the world once a week and frankly

it feels like the 1980s , only with less money to spend (lots)

jews are shooting arafat
arafat shoots jews

russians and americans play pingpong on foreign soil

belgium is broke

U.K. shows why Orwell is from the U.K.

and france has the sun king ...

Europe has about as much clout as it did back then i guess (see, thats why im not sure you can still do this and say this in 2025....)

we'll see

Checking this week we didnt expect much new , its clear the jews have started the endlosung so they cant back down now, during the warring states if they werent sure about a conquered city or town

they dug a big hole and afterwards no one came to stab them in the back for revenge ... Vae Victis, genocide is not quite new, is it ?

Indians (natives), Aboriginals , Maori .... name it ... Africa cleans house every x years, East-europe has methods of making sure the job gets finished when they start the brawl ..

Last week they already ordered construction of 4000 houses (thats about i dunno 30 or 40 times this hood) so it seems unlikely they plan on repopulating the area with Palestinians in the wild

As we see, it seems more likely that in 100 years if you ask your kid what a Palestinian is it will never have heard about it.

And more : if they openly declare "an assault on Gaza city" i think we can all agree, like it or not, its pretty much game over for the palestine nation. Jews dont fuck around, they dont play pingpong ... if they say assault i bet it wont take long ...

No more suffering and starvation within 30 days although probbaly not as most big suits imagined it

...

And it goes on : The Russians are losing the war SO bad they are forcing everyone out of Donetsk ... i bet in X time they will go like "okay then we'll stop since you keep nagging" (but keep what we have .... ) and then go quiet ,

...

The UK has riots all over the place, joblosses, anti refugee (they keep them IN HOTELS OVERTHERE???) but decides they will lift out some palestinians to give them scholarships ... what could go wrong ..

Things are going so great they're gonna frack open the tectonic plates under their island ?

"nothing wrong here ! its temporary logistics problem"

...

And of all places SCOTLAND puts a ban on rain water ???

HOE SO NIETS AN DE HAND ??

the rest was murdercases, natures wrath and ofcourse

SPORTS ... so i think we're good until next week

Well then

If Justin Sun can stunt TRX up to ETH we can at least buy a new PC in a few years, that would be nice

the rest i dont think is anything we can do anything about, my dear and

Sarcasm is not a form of humour

its a coping mechanism

Hiii pretty good stuff is that a worm hole now thats cool :))) i just remembered i backed up 100's of those 8-16 bit games from my 286 at the time
they ran way better on the 386 and it had color and 2 megs ram i found 2 game cd's so funny i dont have a cd player anymore they got backed up when i got my pentium 100 it was a big deal then, be happy to get you a copy soon as i figure out how to get them out :)))
my first encounter with personal gaming was the atari 2600

Atari-2600-Wood-4Sw-Set.png
of course it was in '85 i was immediately enthusiastically devoted :))) after that .

Yea, the kids first games was Ataripaddles too, i think the favourite was Yars revenge back then. Somewhat later a C64 entered the house but the old man never touched it so thats where i got my hello world (and duck shoot on a tape for starters) When that broke some years I was allowed to buy a second Atari ST(f) from the old mans friend, then that broke and i got an STE , by then we had titties 'n beer .. i got a jag while working night shifts at tupperware and then later a pentium 60, my first pc, after playing panzer general and warlords 2 at a friends house on his old mans 486
