You are not alone! I haven't been able to figure it out, either. And I was also trying to figure out whether you can send your Tron directly to an exchange wallet like Bittrex... so far no luck.
Ohhh, I was really wondering what I am not doing right. Btw are you able to access Steem-engine, because that also seems to be not operating as of now
Have you resolve the problem with retrieving your tron tokens?
I can't sign in to steem engine either.
Tron is still the same. I am leaving it for now, not sure what to do with the tokens, let's see may be in near future will be able to figure it out.

I was also using wrong URL and hence was not able to login.
Yes, there seems to be a problem claiming Trons now. They seem to vanish when you claim your rewards. I am surprised that no one has raised the issue. I hope they are working on it.
Anyway, regarding your previous problem - which I experienced also, I was lucky to have a friend sorted out the problem for me.
Do not click on the Update your Tron account. Each time you do that, a new account will be generated. If you want to try and look for the 'lost' Tron tokens, you can try downloading the Tronlink wallet.
From there you create accounts using the keys which you generated when you click on the 'Update the Tron Account' - if you still have them. Your Trons should be in one or more of the accounts. From there, you can send them to one account.
I hope that is clear enough. I was lucky to have a friend did all that for me. And that was how he explained it. I hope it is clear enough. The process might take some time. So it is best that you wait until you have some spare time.
I still cannot access Steem engine. I think I am missing something.
Same happened with me too...and whatever value it was...its all gone! and I have been very skeptical about this Tron thingi...& wondering whom to seek advise from and then your post !!! OMG !!!....
I think I am just going to let it be for now, as still dont get any clarity as to how to go about with these tokens :-(
