in #tricks6 years ago

The accumulation of dampness at home may be due to the materials with which the house is manufactured, the lack of adequate ventilation and the climate. It is very unpleasant to see those spots that form on the walls and corners, but the worst is that they pose a risk to health, because they create the ideal conditions for mites, mold and odors to proliferate. Over time, people living in the home may suffer allergies and even problems in the respiratory system.

Fortunately, there are natural methods that help to combat humidity and improve the appearance of all affected spaces, which will avoid major problems.

Next, we tell you the homemade tricks to combat humidity at home:

White vinegar
This product so natural and that we all have on hand is one of the best to eliminate mold and moisture in the home. It is possible to use it on walls where humidity is not very deep, in bathtubs and even in clothes. On the other hand, it is also a good solution to eliminate the smell of moisture inside the cabinets.

Ingredients:

Half a cup of white vinegar (about 125 ml).
A quarter of a cup of water (62 ml).
A bottle that has an atomizer.
You should dilute the vinegar with water and pour the mixture into the bottle. Then, shake it well and spray the liquid on the spots caused by moisture. After letting it air, repeat the application for a week. In case the humidity is very difficult, the vinegar can be used directly without diluting.

Do not cover the humidity.

Many people usually hide the dampness of the walls by placing a piece of furniture in front or other ingenious elements. However, this prevents the air from circulating and, with the passage of time, the mold proliferates even more. The most advisable thing is to separate the furniture, leaving space for the ventilation to be correct. On the other hand, opening the windows every day is a very simple way to prevent mites and mold from accumulating.

Painting over the moisture stain without having removed it is also an error. If the source of the problem is not solved, the moisture reappears.

Sodium bicarbonate

Sodium bicarbonate is another natural and economical alternative to combat moisture stains, mold and odor. It is not an aggressive product, it has antifungal and antibacterial properties and has a great absorption power.

The procedure is simple: just rub the bicarbonate on the affected areas, let it act for two hours and then remove it with the help of a brush. Another option is to distribute the sodium bicarbonate between different containers and place them in cabinets that also have moisture problems.

Borax

Borax has fungicidal properties, eliminates parasitic fungi and, unlike what happens with bleach, is not as aggressive to the environment. It can be used in various ways in cleaning the home, but it also helps to combat mold.

To manipulate this substance it is necessary to use gloves, do not forget them. Then dilute a spoonful of borax in two liters of water. You have to apply it on the wet spots with a brush and let it rest for half an hour. Afterwards, it is convenient to remove excess moisture by passing a clean cloth.

Tender clothes away from home
Finally, it is necessary to refer to this error that is usually committed very often and that it is important to avoid to combat humidity. Putting clothes inside the house facilitates the proliferation of mold and odors, since moisture is absorbed. On the other hand, the clothes do not dry properly and there is an unpleasant odor that is not easily removed.
