Scientists have long been interested in the case of why a person has a tendency to be left-handed or not.

The assumption that developed so far indicates that the lefty or not someone is determined by the brain.

But a new study published in 2017 proves that not only the brain that determines, but also the spinal cord.

At the 13th week of pregnancy, the babies in this womb have also had a tendency to choose to suck their left or right thumbs.

In fact, when early indications of hand preference arise, the spinal cord has not yet formed a relationship with the brain.

Because of this, the team decided to investigate whether something might happen independently in the spinal cord can affect the tendency of the hand.

"Our findings suggest that the molecular mechanism for epigenetic regulation in the spinal cord is the starting point that a person will be left-handed or not," the researchers concluded.

However, this study has not been too deep, and this finding may be premature to publish.

One thing is clear that this new fact shows evidence that scientists can investigate further.

The more we can learn about the limbs working, the better.
