Baobab:- World's Largest Tree.

Baobab is considered the world's largest tree.It is found in the dry regions of central Africa in the Savanna.
Baobab is not very tall and grows only to a height of 20 metres.It has enormous trunk which may reach sometimes upto 9 metres in diametres.It has short branches which grow out from the trunk itself.An old Arabian legend has it that once the devil had plucked out the Baobab and thrust its branches into earth and left its roots in the air.The trunk of Baobab can withstand conditions of long droughts.
The wood of this tree is not suitable for making furniture as the wood is very soft and spongy with small holes in which water gets stored during rainy season.The bark of the used for making rope and coarse woven materials.
