1. Cler Achel by Tinariwen

This band is from Mali of all places, made of a bunch of Tuareg musicians. Tuareg are a group of berber people who mostly live in the western parts of the Sahara. They started gaining international recognition in the 90s and have even gone on world tours. They have a really interesting life story that is worth reading. It involves taking up arms against their own government. I really like this song.

2. Ecoute by Alexandra Stan feat. Havana

I think most of us have heard Alexandra Stan's most famous song Mr. Saxobeat but if you're like me, you never asked what that song was or who sang it or where she is from. I can't even remember where I've heard it even though it's been multiple times that I have. Maybe bars? The radio? I don't even know. Anyway, Alexandra is Romanian and I'm including this song because I am in Romania right now and this song is pretty cool. Didn't expect the French lyrics, but hey, I think it's even better that way.

3. The Sound of Sunshine by Michael Franti & Spearhead

If you ever need a bit of uplifting, look no further than this song right here. Michael Franti's island vibes are irresistable. Most of his songs have a message behind them and I love the positiveness in this one. And perfect for traveling too.
