Travel Tunes Tuesday 19.0
It's time for another Travel Tunes Tuesday, a project created by @nomadicsoul where we share some of the music we've heard while traveling or that we listen to while traveling. Read the original post here.
1. Ja Bih Preživio by Sane
Since I am currently in Croatia, I figured I'd start out with a song I recently Shazamed off the radio. This is a popular song in Croatia made famous by a guy named Dino Dvornik. This is a more modern cover of it and I've heard it more than once on the radio here. My favorite part of the video is the end where they plug their Myspace account, lol (this video is from 2009). I saved you the trouble and looked it up already. Myspace still works and this band is still on it.
2. Bury Now by Crywolf (feat Lis)
This one has been in my travel playlist for a while now. Crywolf is one of the best Chillstep artists I can think of. I love listening to Chillstep when I travel. If you don't know what it is, it basically combines melodic dubstep with downtempo chillout music. For me, it sets a bittersweet tone to the setting around me, but it always makes me crack a smile. Traveling is bittersweet in so many ways. It's the things we choose to focus on that determine our attitudes. We can choose to focus on the negatives of travel but I choose to dwell on the positives. Otherwise I would become bitter and I couldn't travel full-time like I do. And I'd always frown when listening to music like this.
3. I Miss You by Clean Bandit (feat. Julia Michaels)
Not hard to figure out why this one is in Travel Tunes. I've posted multiple songs in past Travel Tunes Tuesdays that are about missing someone. Travel should be a lot about hellos, in my opinion. I travel to meet new people and see old friends too. But when travel is about hellos it ends up being just as much about goodbyes. Goodbyes to those from home, goodbyes to the new people you just met, goodbyes to the friends you went to visit. This is one of the bittersweet parts about traveling that I mentioned earlier. This song helps remind me of those that I miss.
