The maldives are a group of islands (1,200 islands) in the indian ocean. The most islands are very small and uninhabited. There are white sandy beaches, reef-ringed atolls, a very beautiful underwater world with coralls and lots of different fishes.

We dreamed for a long time to make holiday at the maldives. In december 2017 we travelled from vienna to male. We took a flight with quatar airways from vienna with a stopover in quatar. After the stopover we flight to Male, which is the main island from the maledives. We were picked up by the hotel staff directly at the airport. Then we went by speed boat to our island.
Our hotel "summer island maldives" (Ziyaaraifushi Island) was a about 45 minutes away from the main island male (to the north) located in the north male atoll. There are 156 rooms, 2 restaurants, 2 bars, an infinity pool, a little shop and a diving school. You can walk around the island in only 20 minutes.
The hotel was just amazing. The hotel staff were extremely accommodating and actually fulfilled every wish. The food was delicious with a variety of different currys, western food and grilled meats and fish.

Our Room (Beach Bungalow):

The infinity pool:

Most of the time we just relaxed, read some books und enjoyed the most beautifull view.

Many times we snorkeled around our housereef at our island or we went to snorkeling trips. These trips were organized from the diving school and we visited some reefs in the open sea. We saw some turtles, sharks, some stingrays and lots of colorful fishes.
