RE: City Shots: Lille and Lyon France
You're welcome for the comment. Architecture is neat! My father was a carpenter and built our house almost entirely by himself, though I didn't follow in his footsteps and never really got into building buildings like that, but... I still think it's a super interesting subject and I enjoy seeing what others have built over the years. :)
PS... I wanted to let you know you are in a tie breaker in the IFC. If you'd like to play you have 3 weeks to get your entry in, if you're too busy or don't want to for whatever reason just let me know and I'll give the win to your opponent! Cheers friend, hope all is well with you!
I haven't had much time lately so if the other person put in an entry then you can give it to them. Thanks for letting me know.

You're welcome. Thanks for answering. Okay so, I'm not going to ask him to do an entry if you're not going to play. I'm just going to give him the win if you're not going to play because I don't see any reason to ask him to put in the time to make an entry if he doesn't have a competitor.
Well in that case why not just give me the win then? Or wait and see if he puts in an entry and if not then give me the win....
Hahaha ;)
My point is, If neither of us has to do anything then I'm not really sure why I'm the one being punished for it?
It doesn't actually matter to me overall, but you see my point lol :)
Well... The simple logic of it from my perspective was that you bowed out first.
You implied to me you were too busy and that you wouldn't be entering the round.
Typically in most sports I'm aware of, the first to bow out loses. They are in a sense removing themselves from the competition for one reason or another.
I'm not sure how you can still be in the round when you've said you're bowing out and don't intend to enter?
Finally. I'll say that... About literally... Like I think it was around 5-10 minutes after I sent that message to you about giving your competitor the win that your competitor messaged me on discord and told me he was bowing out as well. And I just went with it because you bowed out first.
I'm not opposed to changing it from his win to a tie since neither of you have the time and since it's not a qualifying game for either of you, meaning you both will make it to the finals either way. I'm not very hung up on it. I just hope a few people have time to play in the finals when it finally happens, lol. ._.
I agree with what you're saying about competitions and sports and rules around disqualification and such. However, in this case, I only happened to disqualify myself first because you asked me the question of whether or not I would play in the round but you didn't actually ask the other person. Now instead, had you happened to ask the other person to play the round and not me, then they would have disqualified themselves and I would have gotten the win simply by the circumstance of who was asked the question. So the loser was decided by who you happened to ask the question and the winner didnt have to actually do anything to receive a win.
I'm okay with whatever you decide - win or tie or both lose - whatever, its fine with me. I just thought it was funny that I lost simply because the question regarding the round was posed to me and not them. I just felt compelled to point that out. Hahaha
I do hope to play in the finals, by the way. No guarantee but I do hope to :)
I think this is where you have miscalculated.
I did ask him, I may have even asked him first... I'm not sure and will have to go check the timestamps, but, I am pretty certain I sent you both a message on the same day so you had roughly the same amount of time to decide.
I alerted your opponent at 12:47 this previous Friday.
Looks like I alerted you at 3:39 on Friday
So, it looks like I let him know around 3 hours earlier than you and I think that was because he was on Discord so it was easier and with you I had to go to your page and to one of your posts to leave the message.
If I had alerted you both at pretty much the same time... I think maybe it's somehow possible he may have responded sooner and bowed out sooner.
So, there's a lesson here and I think in the future I should try to notify tie breaker people as quickly as possible and not let a few hours go by if I can help it.
And because of that, I think giving you both a win is probably the best way to go.
Glad to her you hope to play in the finals! I hope you do as well. :) I do believe it's 200 steem, which is a lot if the value of steem ever goes back up, though, right now I think it's only worth what like $20? That's not much, that's around how much the crystal trophy costs, I think the title is almost more valuable than the prize at this point because steem has dropped so low. That's kind of discouraging, but, I still believe steem has a bright future and I think it will go up to at least $1 again, then it would be around $200 which is pretty good! Anywho... I have a feeling bengy and jbreheny and possibly some others will play at least, lol. So, I kinda doubt everyone will drop out and we should hopefully still be able to have a finals.
Peace and talk to you later!
I think I misunderstood it when you said
But you did ask him so my mistake and it doesn't actually matter who was asked first or second, the whole ordeal was just a funny circumstance.
Anyway, yeah I think steem will rise again but the competition is fun and well done regardless so I would play for that reason alone.

Ah. I see how you could be confused by that. I agree, it doesn't really matter as both of you are in the finals and the only difference is a few XP points which don't mean much in the bigger scheme.
Oh? You think steem is going up again? Word. I like hearing similar sentiments, lol. Not just cause I'd like to cash out some of my money, but, I really like this place and would like to see it overtake social media like Facebook and I think the value of a steem plays a decent role in that equation and the more valuable steem is the more people will want to use it.
Also, that's awesome what you said at the end there! And really good feedback too. I had thought of doing the contest without a prize if steem ever dies or something like that happened just cause I enjoy it so much, but, then recently figured I might as well at least make a small USD prize, even if it's only like $50 or something. That's also my plan for next season in addition to the steem reward, I want to give a small cash prize too, but, we'll see how it goes. Trying not to get too far ahead of myself.
PS... I'm sure you believe me and I don't need to do this, but... Here's a screenshot anyways to show that I did message your opponent at the time I mentioned as well.
