Hey! How are you, people?

My journey to South-East Asia has started almost 2 months ago. There is some useful information that I wish I have known back at home but nobody told me.

5. All the drinks by default are served with sugar.
As typical European I was used to asking for extra sugar but in Asia, they love it: coffee, tea, juice, tomato juice are super sweet. Always remind yourself to say "Kopi O" if you want to have just a normal black coffee. The same applies to everything that is drinkable.

4. Pay some extra money in order to have a reliable health insurance.
You never know what can happen to you in Asia, even a small scratch can lead to some unpredictable circumstances. It's better to be able to reach out to the doctor as soon as possible. The friend of mine got a chicken pox after arriving in Indonesia, thank God the doctor was really helpful and after 1 week in the bed, she was fresh and in shape again.

3. Bring some allergy pills.

The food is so good in Asia that you want to try everything. Especially when we were staying Penang, the food paradise, you could mix Malaysian, Indian and Chinees dishes during one day. As some of the ingredients are quite new for your stomach you cannot be sure how it's gonna react. The first week I was getting small allergy every day, but my bf got the itchy skin for a week after eating ice cream on Penang Hill.

2. Be aware of mosquitos

You definitely should buy repellent both cream and a plug-in one for your room. There are a lot of mosquitos, most of them are just annoying as at home, but there are some dangerous species that transfer some diseases, such a Dengue. If you got fever, don't hesitate and go to the doctor immediately.

1. Don't stress!

Forget about all your troubles and just relax. Here people are not used to being stressed or angry or in a rush ( as we do, while going to work on Monday morning). Try to experience this atmosphere because you won't find it in busy Europe.
