When I took an excursion to Meteora, he charmed me immediately.
Nothing can be compared to the imposing image and awe of the rocks of Meteora. monasteries, wildlife and an eerie peace. This complex of enormous dark rocks of sandstone create one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in the country.

The average altitude is 313 meters.

Meteora are raised outside Kalambaka, near the first hills of Pindos and Hassia, The monasteries of Meteora, built on the peaks of some of the rocks is today the second most important monastic complex in Greece, after Mount Athos.

The Holy Monasteries of the Transfiguration of the Savior, the Holy Trinity, Saint Nicholas of Anapache and Varlaam are male, while the Holy Monastery of Rousanou and Saint Stephen.
Today Meteora has been designated by the UN Cultural Heritage Monument. Through this inheritance the monks-ascetics go centuries now following the steps of the first monks with their faith in obedience, humility, fasting and prayer to the Most High Creator.

Tourists arrive to admire the beautiful and certainly a special landscape.

5 minutes to sit on the rock you immediately feel the peace, the amazing tranquility can offer.
