Trieste - Italy

Is famous for it strong winds but a good place to be although, this coin is not for taking in your pocket. This part of Trieste is mainly square, some canals with restaurants where it is good enough to stay if the sun shines. It didn't as I visited.

The first thing you notice if you arrive is that it has a lot in common with Germany and Austria. There is a harbour but no beach in walking distance of the centre. Also no direct way to get into the water or sit at the harbour and watch...?

Don't you agree that at night everything looks so much better with a bit of light?

We managed to get inside the Asian restaurant which is also a takeaway. I say "manage" since the doorway is small and there is one step which isnot easy to take with a wheelchair.

You can take the dishes you like and pay per dish or pay one amount and eat as much and as long as you like (€19.90 per person). We went for one price. The food? It was way too much, including too much rice. We never made it to the main course since we are not used to eat a lot.

Booking.com helped us to an appartment in the centre of the city the only minus was how to find it. We drove in circles and google maps wasn't helpful.
The appartment was small but fine with us and I would have loved to live there.

There's plenty to see on walking distance and if the weather isn't good you can eat, eat and eat or dine and wine. The neary souvenir shop ripped me off with stamps!

Does Rome have what Trieste hasn't?

The Teatro Romano in Trieste is free.

There's always something going on — life and treats on the streets or behind windows all within hand reach. That is if you have money to spend.

It is hard to describe what makes one feel home. The water? The wind? Art?

There is a car park (not cheap) in the street where you see the buildings in the last photos. Traffic is one-way in large parts, so you can't miss it. There are hotels and flats that will give you a free or discounted ticket for parking. We parked on the street because the spot happened to be free after a long search for the flat and paid per day.

The flat: We found it through booking.com and booked it last-miute for 84.11 euros per night + 2 euros per person per night tourist tax payable in cash. It was clean, although the mattress was not the best (there was a second bed in the same room). Wifi was free, as was toilet paper, towels, soap, shampoo and sheets.

Piazza Grande City Residence
Address: Via della Torretta 8, 34121 Triëst, Italië
Telefoon: +39 389 799 0304
GPS-coördinaten: N 045° 38.928, E 13° 46.027

Everything I showed is within walking distance and good for wheelchairs, except the stairs of the stairs to Teatro Romano, which is a huge plus. The flat we stayed has stairs and a lift.

At the time of writing 1 STEEM = €0.1151

It took me longer than hoped, but this trace is for you dear @ibesso
Happy Anniversary!
♥️🍀

All photos are taken by me.

If you wonder, Lidl supermarket is present though not on walking distance.

Sort:

The buildings close to the river makes gives the Venice vibe.

I look all the photos, they look professionally taken. The place looks nice. So, enjoy it & have fun!

I have Venice too. I once shared a few as I took part in a contest about a "dream" holiday which I planned to take with @yaladeeds. That was actually a fun post to do. I planned the entire trip.

You did what?

LOL.. I guess there was a whole lot conversation and I got the final outcome which is the trip planning.. XD

Hi, dear. Great post.
My advice is to edit the hashtag, the right one is #steem-atlas

Thanks for stoppig by and telling me the right hashtag. A happy weekend.

I have never traveled to ITALY, in fact I don't travel much, but if I ever decide to travel I would go there, it looks better at night, but it is undoubtedly a wonderful country with very nice people, I say this because of the empathy I have with some users of the Italian community.

If you travel what would you like to do? One day you finished working or?

Thank you, a great weekend!

Waw, wait I didn't know you're so talented in taking pictures like this ma'am.

Beautiful, I was thinking I can just grab the coin and hide it my pocket. I wish to explore this place but with my future soulmate 😂

You need a very big pocket to hide that coin in. It's a big one.
At times my phone takes good photos, the blue sky just happened as I took the photos at night. I don't like to photoshop or change a photo afterwards, so I take my time and more than one and throw away what doesn't look great. 😉

Thanks for stopping by! Yoi jave something to look forward to.

🍀🩸

I love the pictures. It's so sharp and clear. Maybe it because of your smart phone..... right?
