'Golden Skin'
A street performer dressed in gold with a sphynx mask. Well, he might more accurately be labelled as a non-performer, as he only stands tall and does nothing before he gets an incentive. After I've inserted a coin into his jar, he makes a fast head movement toward my camera and laughs a bit. What a job! :-)
Today is International Workers' Day and people all over the world celebrate it as Labours Day. Isn't work something that should come naturally to each one of us? I mean if one does what he/she really likes and makes a living doing it, is it working or enjoying the time? The idea kept me thinking. What we call 'working' is, actually, something else.
With all the advancements in technology we were promised more free time, what we got is more work, more stress and less time away from it. Why is it so? Probably because most of the people do not sincerely like their jobs and would rather do something else but due to the financial reasons are indirectly forced to work for their employers.
How would we call that not so long ago? Slavery, I guess. However, today it is done by indirect financial coercion, not with sticks and whips. The core remains the same, no matter how we label it.
Therefore, I respect this man dressed up in a golden sheet. He does what he likes and serves no master. Millions could follow his example and enjoy doing work they sincerely like if they only could understand and be able to apply the metaphorical message. It would likely lead to another change and there would finally be no more slavery.
It is up to us, really.
Enjoy your day! :-)

Beautiful .. well done for these pictures
But life will not be as we want
Thanks for sharing
I think it's true, modern-day slaves ( at least in the Western world) are debt-laden people serving their master 'The Bank' who lent them the money to satisfy their desires for stuff.
It all looks great from afar - a beautiful house, a good car, holidays in warm places a couple of times a year...
... but if a person cannot stop working and take a break for a couple of months, because their financial life will come crashing down, that certainly seems like a form of servitude...
And yet, that slavery is convenient, its something many of us are so accustomed to, that it would take great courage to break the mould, take a risk and do something like that person in gold... although is this really something he wants to do..?
True History, May Day is the last milestone for workers in the struggle to demand hours of work from 12-16 hours per day to 8 hours per day, achieved through a long struggle (1886-1890s) that is so great with sacrifices that will not never happened.
Priceless because it is freed from the shackles of oppression and exploitation of Imperialism (Monopolistic Capitalism). The capitalist system in which industry becomes one of the advocates for unequal production relations between labor and capital owners. For capital owners, workers such as raw materials or raw materials, wages for workers are not determined on the basis of profit from production.
In fact, without a work break at the factory, machinery including raw materials at the plant will not turn into new goods and, there will never be an advantage there. Systems that resemble require. This is a very effective meaning, achieving long-term awareness that will only provide many benefits for the owners of capital.
Long working hours will only provide a super profit for capitalism will also destroy and workers, because workers no longer have the time to learn and improve knowledge, workers do not have more time to care for life and no opportunity to socialize with other communities.
May is the month in which there are 2 significant holidays. Labor Day and Victory Day (for the countries of the former Soviet Union and some other countries). On the day of labor, people are more often divided into 2 types:
The first work and the second rest. But what is work for man? For some, this is an opportunity to prove yourself in some way (like this disguised guy) and make money. But for most people, work is not a favorite activity. Someone simply chooses a profession on which they pay more money. Some get an unnecessary education and go to work in their specialty, although they really do not like this profession.
In the frequency of the matter is that the system is built so that to survive we need to work. Many people do not have monetary savings and therefore if they lose their jobs then they remain with nothing. Therefore, even if they do not like their work, they have no choice.
In "some" countries, the government reduces wages to people. At the same time, prices are constantly rising. What is this done for? First, economic affairs are wrong. And secondly, when people have little money, they do not think about political problems. They think about how to survive. Such people are afraid to go to rallies (because if they come to rallies they will be fired). Such a system can be called modern slavery.
I liked your message and the thoughts that you bring to us. Thank you
You're right, my friend. Too right. We are indeed living in interesting times. ;)
really you describe very great post today.your thought always perfect and real.because always giving qualityfull post in your blog.. Life is challenging in this life the way taken to be able to earn sustenance is different. A very important moment for them is Today is International Labor Day and people around the world celebrate it as Labor Day.
With the welcoming of the workers' day makes them more appreciated even as non-slave laborers are employed but they can not do anything. Long working hours will only provide a super profit for capitalism will also destroy and workers, because workers no longer have the time to learn and improve knowledge, workers do not have more time to care for life and no opportunity to socialize with other communities.thanks to sharing for your valuable post..very well done.. my dear friend.. @velimir
I have seen a similar street performer here in Ottawa. He was covered in bluish silver from head to toe. He would stand perfectly still and then move when you weren't looking. Really neat to see how quick he was able to do this. No Holiday here in Canada for us today. We celebrate Labour day at the begining of September.
May day means a lot of things to a lot of people, not the least of which is downtrodden workers. You are absolutely correct in your assessment of virtual slavery. It is sad but true.
I'm not the first commenter here, just the first to have read the post. That also gives me saddness.
Thanks for a lovely look at an alternative way to earn a living.
The first instance I clicked on your post I scrolled down through the images and was confused as to what the "golden statue" was.
Only when I read your write up did I realize what it was and it just cracked me up. It has been over a minute now and I am still laughing.
Anyway the person behind the golden cloth is his own master and seems to be making some good money.
Great and unique post as usual.
Thank you! :)
labor day!
But labor can't celebrate this day :( ask me why? because they are still working to get some bucks to support their families :(
and that makes very sad :(
I don't about your country but this is happening in my country :(
Everyone except labor is resting but labor is working :)
Kind of a boring job if you ask me! Best wishes!
hahahaha I thought the same :D
