The Biggest AQUARIUM In Europe - Genoa(Italy) FOTO + VIDEO

in #travel8 years ago (edited)

Last summer I had the pleasure to visit the largest aquarium in Europe. The one in Genoa. That's what the Italians say - is the largest in Europe, but if you ask the Scot they say they have the largest aquarium (Deep Sea Aquarium), it's the largest in Italy, and it's still the biggest in Europe .

The aquarium is located on a land of almost 10 thousand square meters, on the seafront, at the entrance to the commercial port of the city, and very close to the historical center of the city. Inside, there are over 70 aquariums that accommodate 450 species of fish, but there are species of animals that animate European fauna and not only. It took me almost four hours to visit the aquarium and the last part in the run-up.

In the first phase we hardly managed to find a parking place in front of the complex. We took a ticket to pay for the parking lot, the cost depending on the time you stay(-13 €).
I sat at the ticket house, it was a waiting queue (40minutes we stayed) and I took the billet for adults- 25 € . If you visit the whole complex, there is also a discount, but the price was somewhere at 30 euros per person.

Once we entered the complex, we sat in the queue, waiting to enter the projection room. The complex welcomes us with a cinema where, for 15 minutes, you watch a 3D movie about sharks. I got special glasses and went into the projection room.

Then I went into the aquarium, where I could admire the multitude of species there. What attracted my attention was the giant basilica, where swims sharked, very large sharks who looked very nervous. There were guards who forbade us to take pictures with a flash, or to fight in the window. They were giant (sharks), what I saw in the Mediterranean, a smaller shark, almost two meters, but those in the aquarium easily exceeded 2, 50m. And in the Black Sea there are sharks that do not exceed a meter long but do not attack the man. And they sit in deep water, over 50 meters, so they do not get close to the shore.

Returning to the aquarium, I visited the seals, very well arranged, you could see the seals on the bottom as the seals swim, and to the top, on a small bridge, you could see how the seals sleep on the rocks. Beautiful. Then we passed the penguins' aquarium, a lot of penguins, living in a very large aquarium, disposed on two basic levels. You could see him swim, or playing on the rocks arranged inside.

But what I liked the most were the dolphins, bigger or smaller, who were constantly playing to the delight of the children. They salt in the water, swimming at the bottom of the water, practically ran all the time.

It's huge, at the ground floor there are souvenir shops, cafes, restaurants and what we are looking for, toilets..

If you get through Genoa, try not miss the aquarium. It's something special and unique for many people.
