Hello Steemit

Today, I am going to show you what you can do in 3 days in London
London is the capital and largest city of England and the United Kingdom Located on the banks of the River Thames, London is an important human settlement since it was founded by the Romans under the name of Londinium almost two millennia ago.

First day

Since today we will take the opportunity to learn about the Changing of the Guard ceremony, we will start the day at Hyde Park, one of the best-known parks in the city and one of the closest places to Buckingham Palace. We recommend starting the visit before 10:00 am at the Marble Arch subway stop and taking a walk through the park to its southern end, in Wellington Arch.

Through the adjoining park, Green Park, you will arrive at Buckingham Palace, in front of which you will have to wait patiently until 11:30 am for the beginning of the well-known ceremony of the Changing of the Guard (before attending do not forget to check the days in which is celebrated).

After the Changing of the Guard - or when you have had enough -, crossing another of the lungs of central London, St James's Park, you will reach the Westminster Abbey. The visit of the abbey will take you quietly for more than two hours, but it is the most important tourist visit of the city.

Leaving the abbey and moving towards the river you will find the main symbols of the city, Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster.

Crossing the Westminster Bridge you will reach the London Eye Ferris Wheel, from where you get the best views of London. Before climbing, you can take the opportunity to eat something fast around. You will have time to dine quietly at night.

After climbing the Ferris wheel it will be late enough to make it impossible to enter more attractions. Taking the subway to Knightsbridge you will reach Harrods, one of the most famous department stores in the world and an ideal place to spend a couple of hours.
Probably either dinner time and the Piccadilly area is a safe option. Since tomorrow the itinerary starts early, it is advisable not to spend the night.

Second day

We will start the day at the Tower of London.
Since the visit will take you most of the morning, we recommend arriving as soon as possible to visit it without haste.
After knowing the secrets of the Tower of London you must cross Tower Bridge to reach the south bank of the Thames.
On the right-hand side, you will contemplate the extravagant figure of the London City Hall and, a little later, you will see the impressive warship HMS Belfast. Due to lack of time, you will not have time to enter these places.
Arriving at the London Bridge station you must take the subway to Camden Town to get to know one of the most peculiar and character neighbourhoods in London. It is a place full of shops and markets where food stalls abound, especially the oriental ones.

Taking the subway back to Goodge Street you will reach the British Museum, one of the most acclaimed museums in the world. Do not forget to visit the Rosetta Stone, the Monument to the Nereids and the section of Egypt.

Completing the cultural part, it is time to visit two of the most important shopping streets in the city: Oxford Street and Regent Street. Following the streets in this order you will arrive at Piccadilly Circus, one of the busiest meeting points in the city.
You can dine in this area or, if you like oriental cuisine, go to neighbouring Chinatown, where, in addition to a very special atmosphere, you will find dozens of totally authentic Chinese restaurants.

Third day

The last day in the capital starts at 10:00 a.m. with a visit to St. Paul's Cathedral, located next to the St Paul´s metro station, where you can visit the crypt and climb the dome.

Taking the subway to Charing Cross station you will reach Trafalgar Square, one of the best-known and busiest squares in London. After taking some photos of the square, approach the imposing neoclassical building that presides it. This is the National Gallery, one of the most important and well-known museums in the United Kingdom where you can admire important artistic pieces for hours.

After visiting the museum you can go on foot to the northeast until you reach the pleasant neighbourhood of Covent Garden, an area full of shops, theatres and restaurants where you will easily find a place that you like to eat and spend the rest of the afternoon until the time you probably have to go to the airport.

Do you have more than three days?

If you are lucky enough to have more days there are still plenty of places to visit, we could highlight The Old Operating Theater, an old operating room where atrocities were lived, the famous Madame Tussauds wax museum, the reconstruction of the theatre that saw the theatre grow Shakespeare's fame, Shakespeare's Globe Theater or one of the world's most important war museums, the Imperial War Museum.
London is a city with endless possibilities where it is impossible to get bored and not know what to do. The biggest problem is choosing among its many attractions.

How to go from the airport to central London?

London is a huge city with an impressive tourist influx. A metropolis prepared to receive millions of visitors every year and with four airports perfectly connected to the city.
The most common way for travellers to arrive in London is by plane, so it is interesting to know in advance how to make the transfers from the airport to which you are going to travel.
In London there are four international airports: Luton, Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow. Here we tell you how to get to London from each of them.

TRANSFERS FROM LUTON AIRPORT

Luton Airport is located 50 kilometres from London and, despite being somewhat small, it is one of the most popular airports in the city; This is due, in large part, to the fact that it is chosen by the low-cost companies operating in Europe. The best known are Easy Jet, Ryanair and Vueling.

Transfer service

The best way to get from Luton to London is by using the Transfer service; That is the transfer (which must be booked in advance) that allows us to have a driver who will be waiting for you in the hall when you arrive at the airport and will take you to your hotel for a cost that is usually around 28 GBP. We consider it the best because it is the fastest and the service is not excessively expensive.

Train Luton

If you prefer to opt for the train you have at your disposal the services of First Capital Connect and East Midlands that are extremely efficient and will leave you in the centre of London. There you can purchase a transport voucher and you can access the buses or the metro that leave you at the door of your hotel. The cost of the ticket is around 15-20 GBP and the duration of the trip is less than one hour.

Bus - The cheapest option

The most used option, however, is the EasyBus bus that will take you from the airport to the city centre at a very economical price. The disadvantage is that this bus must be booked in advance and that sometimes it is difficult to find space with a short time in advance (it is possible to say that we have bought Easy Bus tickets in other time slots and have always let us travel although the schedules do not coincide when getting on the bus). Another against this type of transport is that the trip takes about an hour and a half, which can be a bit tedious if you have been on a plane for a long time. The positive is that the trip will cost you less than 8 GBP. The bus stops at different places in London, the most common places are Victoria Station and Baker Street (places where you can easily purchase a transport voucher and connect with the subway to go directly to your hotel). EasyBus is the most economical option to go from Luton airport to the city centre.

Luton private taxi / car

Finally you have the taxi, but we do not recommend that you choose this means of transport unless you travel in a group of 4 people with little luggage. Not only because it is not the fastest, but also because this trip can cost you about € 130 (per group), so we recommend choosing one of the above options if you do not want to start the trip wasting money.

Pd: I took these pictures by myself when I did this trip to London in 2014.
