Paris in 4 days, the city of the light and love- @travelltheworldd

in #travel5 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemit,

Today, I am going to show you a route of 4 days in Paris

Paris is the capital of France and its most populated city. Capital of the Ile-de-France region, it is the only single-department department in the country. The city of Paris, within its narrow administrative boundaries, has a population of 2,273,305 inhabitants in 2015.

How to get from Orly airport to Paris:

  • Orly Bus: This bus runs from the airport to Denfert-Rochereau square. The ticket price is 7.70 euros (one way) and the journey time is approximately 30 minutes. At the Denfert-Rochereau stop, we will find a metro station with correspondences with line M4, M6, and RER line B, with which you can reach the center of Paris. Something to keep in mind is that if you do not want to get the tickets inside the Terminal, you can also buy them at the same bus stop, where there are also vending machines that accept both tickets and credit cards to make the payment. Once on the bus, you have to validate the ticket on a machine at the door for it.
  • Bus 183: This is the cheapest way to go from Orly airport to Paris. The journey is approximately 60 minutes, although the city traffic between the airport and the Porte de Choisy station must be taken into account. The price is 2 euros per person.
  • Taxi: The price of a taxi from Orly airport to the center of Paris is about 50 euros or so. To take into account that on weekends, holidays or at night and early in the morning this price becomes more expensive.

Day 1

We started the day with the Louvre Museum, since in our itinerary through Paris of 4 days could not miss. It is one of the best things to do in Paris.

  • Open from 9 to 18 hours except Tuesdays. On Wednesdays and Fridays, it closes at 9:45 p.m. We advise you to be there before the opening time as there may be a line.

You should also plan exactly what you want to see because it has 35,000 works on display and it would take more than one day to see everything. You can calculate to spend there all morning and even part of the afternoon, about five or six hours.

Once you leave the Louvre, cross the Tuileries Garden until you reach the Place de la Concorde. If you go more or less fast it can cost you a quarter of an hour, although it will surely cost you more because it is worth stopping to contemplate its fountains and statues.
When you arrive at the Place de la Concorde, the first thing you will see is the obelisk from Luxor (Egypt). In it, you will appreciate some hieroglyphs. In addition to the obelisk there are two spectacular fountains, one to the north and one to the south.

Go now in this part of the visit to the Avenue of the Champs Elysees and walk its almost two kilometers to the Arc de Triomphe. The part of the avenue closest to the Place de la Concorde is characterized by gardens that house three palaces and a university.

When you arrive at the Arc de Triomphe, in addition to contemplating its exterior beauty, you can ascend to contemplate the views of the city of Paris and visit the museum inside. It is open from 10 to 23 hours from April to September, both included. The rest of the year closes at 10:30 p.m.

Day 2

We start with the most emblematic squares of the city of Paris. First we will go to the Nation Square. Do not forget to admire the sculpture entitled "The triumph of the republic." Then, the Bastille Square, one of the most important in the history of this city. The column of Julio stands out in it. Finally, we arrive at the Republic Square, where the Statue of Liberty is located in Paris.
Taking the subway you will arrive at the Opera Garnier. We recommend a visit to this building, as it is worth it outside and inside. The photo just above this section corresponds to the inside of the opera. It is open every day from 10 to 17 hours.

The afternoon of this day you can dedicate it to the Montmartre neighbourhood. Head towards him on the Cité Island, in the middle of the Seine.

In Montmartre, you can not miss the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, where all the tourist guides for travellers coincide. It is open to the public every day, from 6 in the morning until 10 at night. If you want to see the dome and the crypt, check the schedules because they are different. If you had to choose a religious place to see in Paris in 4 days this would be one of them.

Montmartre is an area to savor. Take your time to visit and stroll through the streets and squares, especially the painters' square, which is the Plaza du Tertre. This square is very close to the church of the Sacred Heart.
A little more than 10 minutes walk we will find the Moulin Rouge, the best-known cabaret in the city of Paris and destination of all trips.
In the area, you can eat in the many bars and restaurants there, both for tourists and the more traditional French of the place.

Day 3

We recommend you spend the morning at the Museo d'Orsay. One morning may be enough to see it whole without haste. If for something it is famous especially for its vast collection of impressionist paintings.

  • Visiting hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. except Thursdays, which closes at 9:45 p.m.
  • Mondays is closed.

If you feel like walking, in half an hour you will be in the Luxembourg Gardens. It is one of the most interesting parks in the city of Paris. There you can admire the Luxembourg Palace, sculptures, and if you want you can take a boat ride through the pond. There is also a puppet theatre, a roundabout and restaurants.

Now is the time to enjoy the sights of Paris. We will do this at the top of the Montparnasse Tower. The tower is open every day from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. from the beginning of April until the end of September.

The rest of the year closes at 10:30 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday, and at 11 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and holidays.

If you want it and you have time, it is interesting to walk through the Montparnasse district. It highlights the train, subway, and cemetery stations, where some well-known writers are buried. There is a lot of hotel offer if you want to stay in the area.

The Eiffel Tower

Then on your visit, head towards the Eiffel Tower, the most popular monument in Paris. It must be one of those mandatory places to see in Paris in 4 days, since it is surely one of the best-known monuments in the world.

Contemplate it and go up to admire the spectacular views from there. If you want to climb to the maximum height, you must buy the ticket before 9:30 p.m.
The Eiffel tower is one of the most emblematic monuments of France, and you need to visit it. It was built in 1987 by Gustave Eiffel, one of the most important engineers of the time.
The Eiffel Tower ticket office stops selling tickets at 10 pm, but the tower is open until almost midnight many days of the year. You also have the option to buy tickets online.
If you have time, go again to the Champs Elysees entering the fashion stores that are open and that are on both sides of the street and enjoy the surrounding parks and fields.

Day 4

We recommend that you arrive early because there is usually a line to enter.

  • It is open every day from 8 am to 6:45 pm, except Saturdays and Sundays, which closes at 7:15 pm.

Then go to the Pompidou Center. The most interesting there are the works of modern art. With two or three hours it may be enough. The museum and exhibitions open from 11 am to 9 pm except Tuesdays. Here you have more information. To end our visit to Paris in 4 days, it is well worth a walk through the Latin Quarter. It has several very important and well-known buildings in Paris: the Sorbonne University, the Odeon Theater, the Sant Etienne du Mont Church, the Santa Genoveva Library and the Pantheon.
In the latter, 65 French personalities are buried.

  • If you want to visit it, it is open to the public from 10 to 18 hours.

If you have plenty of time and you like football you can go to the Saint-Denis district to see the Paris Saint Germain stadium.
