Amazing Experiences: Boat Trip Around Zakynthos – Part #8

And today… We finish our boat trip around Zakynthos Island, in Greece! 😊

After we had left our adventure involving a big boat and a small cave, we were heading for the last part of our journey. By then, we had almost completed our tour of Zakynthos Island and we were about to reach the Southern part.

The Southern part of Zakynthos, as we already mentioned, is a more touristy part, were you can find places for party-goers (like Laganas) and calmer locations (like Kalamaki or Argassi), where you can expect incredible sandy-beaches with lots of water activities.

But before that, there was more cliffs and rocks to pass by, including two hidden gems that we’re going to cover in more detail in other posts: Port Limnionas and Port Roxa 😊

Entering the South of Zakynthos by West, gave us an incredible perspective of one of the places we unfortunately missed on our stay in this amazing island: Marathonisi Island.

This island is a turtle paradise and is an environment protection zone, which makes it inaccessible to big boats. For this reason, ours didn’t get to close. Also, it’s kind of funny because that protection is supposed to be for the turtles, and their island looks like a turtle! 😊

There’s a possibility of visiting the island, on small boats (some of them even have their hull made of glass so you can spot turtles swimming around), but we didn’t have time for that… All in all, if you want to try, just head to Laganas and look for some of the companies that do these activities, or to Cameo Island, where there’s much more offer of these services.
