RE: Roadtrip: Scottish Highlands Part Two

in #travel6 years ago

This is reminding me of the trip we took pre-kids when we camped at Fort William to hike up Ben Nevis and at Oban. From Oban we took a day trip to Mull, Iona and Staffa. That was a fun holiday

Sort:

I wouldn't like to hike up Ben Nevis, though if you are young and fit it would be good. Did you make it to the peak?

@bingbabe wants to go again already, Stornoway this time in the Outer Hebrides.

We made it up, but we were a lot younger. There were loads of people going up and some were in flipflops. There was snow at the top even though it was summer. Coming down was worse as my knees suffered

some were in flipflops

This is madness, @bingbabe had some unsuitable footwear when when ascended in the cable car, but the walk on the top was only around a mile and she managed it. Some people go completely unprepared such as ME as few weeks ago.

We were in hiking boots
