Meaning Of The Hand Performance Of The Monks In The Ritual
In the middle of the ritual, 3 senior monks came and sat in the corner of the front stage.
While a monk was reading some praying documents, they showed their hands in various forms.
The 3 monks who showed their various hand performance looked high ranking monks.
Each form of the hands must have had a specific meaning in my view.
They changed the forms of their hands according to the praying.
I asked the meaning of those various forms of the hands to somebody sitting near me, but no one answered my question.
Only one man who sat besides me told that those actions seemed to reproduce Buddha’s teaching when Buddha was alive.
So he estimated that the hands performance would express the teachings of Buddha.
There were saying in Buddhism that the real truth, the teaching of Buddha, could not be taught by the words, as like the reflection of the moon on the surface in the bowl showed real appearance that the moon on the sky.
In this point of view, the hand performances by the senior monks told us the real truth of Buddhism.
Even though I couldn’t understand the meaning of the hand performance, every move was touching.
The hand performance was unique and interesting experience for me.

Did you feel something while looking at their performance ?
If you did, you must be very talented in Buddhist cultivation.
You need to go to the temple.
Some of them could be mudras. They are supposed to direct the energy in the body.
Interesting info... those hand gestures can really have significant meaning.
