My last day in Tuva

Around noon I visit again the shaman center Dün Gür to make this photo. Since I was only a week here I had no time to work with them. On my first visit 5 years ago I unfortunately had the bad luck to get a very serious poisoning of their well water and was for a week completely out of action. Only with the help of the nomads in the taiga I did get a convalescence, supported by the household means of the acquaintances in Kysyl. I wanted to make this visit yesterday, but the shamans were not there because of a holiday. The man in the middle is the head of the center and a very pleasant shaman, do not let his stern look fool you. After I had given him a few samples of my music, it was clear to him that I could and should work here: The next time definitely!

Mein letzter Tag in Tuva

Gegen Mittag besuche ich nochmal das Schamanenzentrum Dün Gür um das Foto zu machen. Da ich ja nur eine Woche hier war hatte ich diesmal nicht vor bei ihnen zu arbeiten. Bei meinem ersten Besuch vor 5 Jahren hatte ich leider das Pech von ihrem Brunnenwasser eine sehr ernste Vergiftung zu bekommen und für eine Woche komplett ausser Gefecht gesetzt zu werden. Nur mit Hilfe der Nomaden in der Taiga gelang mir damals eine Genesung, unterstützt von den Hausmitteln der Bekannten in Kysyl. Ich wollte diesen Besuch schon gestern machen, aber da waren die Schamanen wegen einem Feiertag nicht da. Der Mann in der Mitte ist der Chef des Zentrums und ein sehr angenehmer Schamane, lass dich von seinem strengen Blick nicht täuschen. Nachdem ich ihm ein paar Kostproben meiner Musik vorgespielt hatte war für ihn klar dass ich hier arbeiten kann und soll: Das nächste Mal ganz bestimmt!

This name has often appeared in my report and without her help my stay in Tuva would have been much more difficult and without the special occasions. Since she speaks fluent German, the communication was not a problem and our friendship was characterized from the very beginning by a very cordial kind, which is rarely encountered. By this way a huge thank you to her again!

Dieser Name ist des öfteren in meinem Bericht aufgetaucht und ohne ihre Hilfe wäre mein Aufenthalt in Tuva um einiges schwieriger und ohne die besonderen Anlässe gewesen. Da sie ja fließend Deutsch spricht war die Kommunikation auch kein Problem und unsere Freundschaft war von Anfang an von einer sehr herzlichen Art geprägt, die man so sehr selten antrifft. Auf diesem Wege nochmals ein riesiges Dankeschön an sie!

My small bus arrives punctually and the trip to Krasnoyarsk begins. For these distances of 1000 km, these small buses for 8 passengers are often booked, since they are faster than the larger ones. One stop is still planned in Tuva: Turan, the small town near which the royal tombs were found. Here is a view of the High Street in the city.

Mein kleiner Bus kommt pünktlich an und die Fahrt nach Krasnojarsk beginnt. Für diese Strecken von 1000 km werden gerne diese kleinen Busse für 8 Fahrgäste gebucht, da sie schneller sind als die großen. Ein Halt ist in Tuva noch geplant: Turan, die kleine Stadt in deren Nähe die Königsgräber gefunden wurden. Hier ein Blick auf die Hautpstraße in die Stadt.

Dann rauschen die kleinen Siedlungen und die heiligen Berge vorbei und die Fahrt geht hinein in die Nacht.

On the first stop in Chakasia, I discover these steals, almost the identification mark of the long-extinct culture of the Scythians, whose heritage can be found everywhere in Chakasia. I was able to experience the natural revival of this culture in 2004 at the great music festival in Schuschenskoe.

Beim ersten Halt in Chakasien entdecke ich diese Stehlen, quasi das Erkennungszeichen der längst verloschenen Kultur der Skythen, deren Erbe in Chakasien überall zu finden ist. Die natürliche Wiederbelebung dieser Kultur konnte ich 2004 beim großen Musikfestival in Schuschenskoe hautnah erleben.
