The Heart of Visayas- Bohol ❤⛰
A family with kids can still have modern comforts while still feeling that adventurous vibe, even in remote islands. With the locals’ warm hospitality, they’re always ready to lend a helping hand if you needed it. The Philippines has so much to offer when it comes to wonderful places to go to. Bohol, one of the family friendly destination in the Philippines. Bohol is located at the heart of the Visayas region, lured nature-loving tourists from all parts of the globe. Touted as one of the island jewels of the Philippines, its white sand beaches and mysterious islands are one of the best in the world. This is the tenth largest island in the Philippines, and one of my favorite family friendly destinations in the Philippines.
Our first-stop in Bohol is in the mountain town of Sagbayan, Bohol, about 45 miles northwest of Tagbilaran City, lies Sagbayan Peak, a mountain resort and recreation center. The five-hectare resort offers a 360-degree perspective view of the famed Chocolate Hills plus the distant blue sea separating Bohol from the island of Cebu.
Ticket entrance is only 10 PHP/0.2 USD. Beside the ticket booth is a tarsier sanctuary where using your camera's flash is prohibited. From the booth, a wide flight of stairs lead to a plateau where a life-sized T-rex dinosaur greets every visitor.
Here some other photos and relaxing views in our first stop:
Our second-stop in Bohol is at Chocolate Hills, Bohol’s Natural Wonder. This time of the year the hills are green but during summer these turn into brown looking little mountains of chocolates, scattered within 50 kilometers square area, and according to research, more than a thousand in number. People are not allowed to hike the hills, but there is a an area, a viewing deck, to get a spectacular view of the it, and you just need to endure 214 steps to get there.
Once you get to the top, it’s definitely worth it. You’ll get a 360 degrees view of chocolate hills. The place can be very touristy but you can get a good spot for taking photos and even for selfies and videos!
I have to be honest with you, the place can be very touristy. But it shouldn’t stop you from experiencing the beauty of the Chocolate Hills.
And for our last stop is at Bohol Python and Wildlife Park. This is really a fun place to visit specially for kids, and very educational too.
There are many more places or tourist spots in Bohol. But we can't go in other beautiful places because we have only 1 day tour. Maybe when I go back there soon I will go for some other beautiful places in Bohol, but for now I have to finish my summer class so that I can travel more after haha. That's it thank you for reading my travel blog. See you in my next travel :) Enjoy your summer vacation everyone :).
