Have you ever been in a cenote?

For those of you who don't know, a cenote is a natural sinkhole. Mayans used to throw things down the sinkhole as a sacrifice to their gods. That would include gold, jewels, and even people! Most cenotes have already been excavated, so the chances of finding treasure or a skeleton are extremely unlikely.

This is obviously an underwater photo of me in the cenote. This was after I did a 5 meter dive.

Here are some views from inside the cenote. The water is usually a bit wider than the hole. Cenotes are usually quite cold because they are usually deep, and not much sunlight comes in. You may see fish while swimming in the cenotes

This specific cenote has a ledge inside that you can dive off of it. I had a lot of fun doing so! It is amazing what kind of natural masterpieces can be found all over the world. This cenote was found in the Riviera Maya of Mexico.

Beautiful.

Very interesting. I like the wooded landscapes and these caverns with water.
Beautiful contribution @samanthacancun

Cool! Looks gorgeous! Was the place hard to get to?

It was right off of a high-way surprisingly. Not hard to get to at all :)
