Short biketour close to Bad Tölz, Germany
Hey guys, this is a short description of today's biking tour in Bavaria, Germany.
I just biked around close to Bad Tölz in Southern Bavaria when I on the bike road towards Gaißach came over a trekking route to Rechelkopf. The gravel route pretty quickly started to ascend and my speed at the lowest gear was about 6km/h! Even that felt tiring and I had a lunch break after 20 minutes of slowly climbing.
There was no junctures really so the only way was to continue or give up and turn around. About 20 minutes after eating some sandwiches and yogurt it finally started to show up some huts along the stony road in the forest and one could anticipate that the top is behind the corner.
It went a few corners but after totally 50 minutes of mostly climbing slower than a turtle with my mountain bike I reached a alm with a small restaurant at.
From there there was a 160 height meter climb over the alm togheter with the grass eating and bell ringing cows. To the top of Rechelkopf (1330m) and back from the restaurant without the bike took less than 30 minutes. The view from the top where there was two resting benches was beautiful. My phone's camera doesn't really give the real value to the view.
I headed down with my bike towards Marienstein. The road was not as steep as the one I came up along and in much better condition. It was a perfect and very easy downhill first east-northeast towards Marienstein and then after crossing a stream following the stream back to the outskirts of Bad Tölz.
The returning 14km from the top took just over 30 minutes as the 11km way to the top took one hour. It was a great day for a short biking tour and one could see that in the faces of several happy bikers and trekkers in the Bavarian forest today.
Sorry guys, what I really wanted to share with you was the photos from the beautiful Bavarian landscape. Now it seems my phone won't upload them which means it will take a while before I can get them to you. I promise though to upload the pictures to this and a few other tours when I am back at my laptop! Until that!
No worries, remember that posts can't be edited after the payouts anymore though, so you might have to just make new posts with the photos then. :)
Exactly!
Haha this reminded me a bit of the time we were biking in Lapland :D
Haha thanks for that memory :D that was nice time and also the first touch to a mountain bike for me. Might that has been be the reason why I flew over the handlebar when breaking :D
Haha did that happen there? I can't remember :D I remember getting a flat tire and then you and another friend helping me out with sharing the kms that I had to run. :D
Fortunately it was at a moment with not too many watching :D haha I had forgot that part :)
