Things I Learnt As A Black Guy Living In Russia - Part 1
The Genesis
Picture this, an African guy (Zambian) in cold Mother Russia. Ok, let me start from the very, very, very beginning.
I was 19. It was a hot sunny day in October. Actually, it was on the 10th of October 2010 (10.10.2010). Lord knows I will never forget those 3 digits (10.10.10). I was at the Lusaka International Airport ready and anxiously waiting to get on my first flight (I know, I was 19 the first time I ever got on a plane, ha ha ha. Tough times in Africa folks, tough times!).
Every year, the Zambian government sends about 250 High School graduates to go and study in Russia at different Russian Universities. In 2010, I was one of the mmm “lucky” 250.
Like most of my peers, we all sat at the Airport Lounge with our families, excited but yet frightened because we all heard of how racist Russia is, especially to people of color. I was accompanied by my mother, brother and sister. I knew my mother was just as nervous as I was. I could feel her heart beat faster as the clock ticked on. Will my son be safe? Will my son survive in Russia's dreadfully cold weather? Will my son come back in a casket? Those were the questions that were written all over my Mother's face.
Saying good-bye is the hardest thing to do and it was that time. Gosh, I could feel my tears almost rolling down my cheeks but I couldn't let my young brother and sister see me (the big guy) cry -Oh hell no!
I said good bye to my family; I hugged them for the last time and grabbed my suitcase. This was it, man up or go home and you know big boys like me never back down from nothing and I mean NOTHING.
Watch out for Part 2 tomorrow.
PS - This is my very first post here.
Me speaking Russian and documenting my journey in Sochi, Russia (It's only in Russian Language).

Hello @romeoblackflame and welcome! Can you please post a link to your steemit post in the description of the youtube video ? I simply want to make sure that you are who you say you are :) There is a lot of fake profil on steemit... Also I'm curious to know how you discovered this website?
Sure let me do that.. I will do it now. I was just a little bit busy. I discovered Steemit on Youtube while searching for Cryptocurrencies.
I just added it.. check
There is no steemit link in the description of that video
Steemit is a non profit company. It is a community project, anyone can contribute to make it better. If you have steem/steem power or steem dollar in your wallet then you have a stake in the "company", which means you have an incentive to work for steemit ( add content, code, marketing,etc..).
I have sent you a message using the email on your youtube profil.
Please answer here with the code so I know you are genuine.
CRYPTO
Ok got you! Sorry to bother you but people trying to monetize other people's content is very common here and I was a bit suspicious because you have a lot of subscribers. Would be great if you could do a vid about steemit at some point as not many people know about it!
its ok.. I get it.. Its no bother at all. Yes, I am planing to do a video soon for my channel.. But my subscribers are mostly Russian speaking.
We will have an alternative site soon which will support different languages including Russian.
You can check it out at www.steemit.com/@busy.org and www.busy.org
Steemit.com will still exist and all your profil information will be automatically available on busy as it uses the steem blockchain. Anyway good luck in your steemit venture!
Thanks.. yea that will be awesome.. I will post some more content soon. U work for steemit?
