Super Long Hair Of A Sadhu Near Kathmandu Nepal - My Photos From 1989

I took these pictures in 1989 near Kathmandu, Nepal. I was on a semester abroad studying Tibetan culture in India, Nepal and Tibet.

I'm pretty sure this man was a sadhu. A sadhu is "a holy man, sage, or ascetic" and is generally associated with Hinduism. He had super long hair as you can see. The 2nd picture shows the hair coiled up on top of his head.

He was nice as I recall. I had someone with me who could communicate with him and I think he spoke a little bit of English. It was so long ago I cannot recall everything in detail. Sadhus are very fascinating in my opinion---their spiritual beliefs, practices, etc.
