in #travel7 years ago

Romania is one of the countries in Europe that has all the forms of relief. It also has plenty of pleasant tourist areas. Many tourists who visited Romania left a pleasant impression on the landscapes and people here. Of course, the Romanian cuisine is very appealing. For this reason I decided to promote here Steemit, the most beautiful tourist areas in Romania. Prince Charles is one of the most famous tourists visiting the Viscri area in Romania. About this, we will speak in a future article.

In 2015, Sighisoara Citadel became for four days the European Capital of Intercultural Dialogue. Sighisoara is located in the center of the country and is 280 km from Bucharest.
Sighisoara is one of the few towns in Europe inhabited by cities and the only one preserved for the most part but also inhabited in Romania. Due to its remarkable architecture, dominant position and geographical ambience, the city has been surnamed since the late 19th Century "Pearl of Transylvania". The City-Fortress Plan is characteristic of German cities founded in the late Middle Ages.

Sighisoara has a special image because, for centuries, in this medieval burg has coexisted in good understanding Romanians, Hungarians, Saxons and other nationalities, who helped each other, giving birth to a multicultural community.

Tourist sights to visit in the old area of Sighisoara:

  1. House where he lived 4 years, Vlad Dracul.

Vlad Dracul (Vlad Tepes) is the character who inspired Bram Stoker when he wrote the novel Dracula. Prince Vlad lived here between 1431 and 1435, and from here he writes to the people of Brasov, hoping to obtain support, with an army to help him recover the throne of Wallachia, usurped by his brother, Alexandru Aldea.

  1. Stage Scale.

The Scale of the School was built in 1660-1662, initially had 300 steps and in 1849 it was modified and remained 175 steps. It was covered to protect the children who were following this path to school. Besides, and now at its end there is the high school in town.

  1. Clock Tower.

The monument has a height of 64 meters, is located in the southeastern part of the city and is visible from any point of the city center. The edifice was built in the fourteenth century to protect the main gate of the city. At the end of the sec. The 17th century was provided with a baroque coronation coronation, similar to that of St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague. Over time the Clock Tower became the representative building of the city.

The current clock mechanism is newer, being executed on special order in Switzerland by Fuchs and installed in the Clock Tower on April 1, 1906. Outside, the clock is equipped with two huge dials, 2.40 meters in diameter, on each facade of the tower and figurines installed in niches.

Also in Sighisoara, but in the new area of the city, there is the Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral. This beautiful church is built on the bank of Târnavei Mari and was built between 1934-1937, in a Romanian neo-gothic style.
I wish you a pleasant trip! Visit Romania.

Yes, Romania is a great country. It's poor and people live on very poor salaries, but it's good for Western people to exploit difference in wages and have a lot of fun there. It's not fair by any means, but this is life unfortunately - and life isn't fair generally. I really appreciate those pictures, thanks a lot for sharing those and trip report with us. I've been only to Bucharest so I still didn't see much, but I would love to venture to other places as well. As it's pretty cheap here I generally shouldn't have prolem moving around from city to city and exploring this amazing country. Thanks a lot :)
