Some stuff you should know before coming to Italy

Here I am guys, writing my first article. I'm so proud of myself :D
Anyway, in the last months I've been a lot around in the world and I met travellers from many countries. A lot of them wanted to come to Italy (but some of them showed no interest in my country... that is weird!) but I found out that almost everybody had no idea of what they were going to, or they had some weird ideas about Italy, or had some plan that was totally insane. So I decided to write this article. First there are some false beliefs that I want to rectify, than i'll write some suggestions.
Let's start:

1- It's not so small! And moving is not so confortable
Some people showed me the plan to visit lot of places in a few days, like a (very pretty) taiwanese girl I met on the airplane on my way back home, who wanted to visit in five days the following places: Milan, Venice, Florence, Cinque Terre and Lago di Garda. Unfortunatly, moving from milan to florence by train could take something like 8 hours... so if you don't have much time, choose just one place and visit it. Don't waste your time and money to spend all your travel on a train.
Also, the train system is kind of good in the north part of italy, but in some regions of south it really sucks. So you might find a better soution with private bus and sometimes airplane. From exaple from Milan to Rome, you can probably find a very cheap flight and it's a lot better than train!

2- You can't corrupt police!!
Almost everyone seems to believe that, if you find yourself on trouble with the police (for example illegal camping, or illegal fire on the beach), you can just pay the police. Please don't. I don't know exactly what would happen if you offer money to the police but expect lot of troubles.

3-Beware of scams
It's not very common but sometimes some dishnest restaurateurs will try to make you pay more than you should. Don't give to those suckers more than the price written on the menu!

4- Food is great, but somewhere is greater :)
Very often the luxorious (and expensive) restaurant that you find in the best location in the center of the city is not the best! Take a look on tripadvisor, ask local people and find the very good ones! Still, you will hardly get a disappointing eating experience.

5-Don't buy weed on the streets
It's kind of easy to find weed of hash in the city, expecially from niggas in parks. But most of times they will give you the worst shit you can find, expecially if you buy hash. Better to go to some clubs or bars where young people are, and ask them. With some luck you'll find something great :)

6-It's more than Rome, Milano, Florence, Cinque Terre ecc
I don't get why everyone wants to go to the same places, and often those are not the best! For example, milan is not so good. And there are so many places to go to! So take some times to find the best route for you!
Here some suggestion:
-If you want to see some historical city, almost everyone is good. Of course Rome is the greatest, but some less known pearl are Siena, Pisa, Torino, Volterra (that one is very weird), Agrigento..
-If you want to party hard during night and stay at the beach during the day go to Gallipoli!!
-Venice is fucking romantic but don't go during summer. Better september/october, or may/june
-Riccione sucks. I don't get why all the germans wants to go there.
-Sardinia and Sicily are the best places for the sea landscapes. I suggest particolary the Eolie islands. All those places in south italy are good for backpacking adventure or easy family vacation. But don't expect too much party like Ibiza.
