[삼랑진읍](Video + Blog) I Travelled to SamNangJin South Korea for Strawberries! and Lights!

Waassssup Steemit!

So, my most recent adventure in South Korea had me traveling to the small town of SamNangjin south of Deagu. We found out somewhere somehow on social media, a place where you could pick your own strawberries. Who doesn't love strawberries? Since I currently am living in Deagu, it was only about a 50 minute train ride, so it would make an excellent day trip.

As you might have noticed, there is a video on top of this. The video is just some quick run and gun footage I took while we were there. Nothing amazing, but I always like to make at least something for every trip I do. Just for my own personal memories if anything. However, I also like sharing with others so....

Upon arriving, the town was incredibly small. There were only a couple main streets around the station, which mostly consisted of cafe's and some small restaurants. There weren't many people either. The town is quite spread out though, so it probably feels smaller than it actually is. It is a farming town, and these types of towns are not popular in Korea. Most youth move out of them never to return, so they just sort of slowly, die, but I love them.

We were picked up at the station, and after a short drive, arrived at the strawberry farm. The strawberries were growing in green house, and the guide took you to a specific one where you were free to pick, eat, and fill your container to your hearts content. It was a lot of fun! They also painted our faces and gave us a free strawberry smoothie (if you selfied and hash tagged them on instagram).

After we were finished, we shuttled from the farm to this place called 'Lighting Tunnel.' Someone bought an old rail car tunnel and outfitted it with a ZILLION lights. You paid a small fee to enter and then just walked the tunnel.

Pink Lights, Blue Lights, Shark lights! EVERY KIND OF LIGHT! This tunnel had all sorts of lights setup in all sorts of different arrangements. It was fun. There was even and aquarium setting halfway through, consisting of fish and turtles. At the end there was also a cafe.

For the couples out there, you can purchase a paper heart to put in the tunnel (near the end it turns into a love tunnel), there were hundreds of them.

We started this trip before noon, so it was only about 2:30pm by the time we decided to head back to the station. We enjoyed some beers at the CU, then went to grab our train.

Interesting Facts: If you ever see these next to the station platforms; they're old water towers that were used to refill the steam engines. I have only seen a few of these and like to grab pictures of them when I do!

Anyway, hope you had fun watching my video and reading through my post!
