While returning home from Kanyakumari and Thiruvananthapuram, the two full days spent on the banks of the Ashtamudi Lake near Kollam town of Kerala were really very memorable. According to the map shown on Google, this lake is quite large.
I needed a little time to understand and understand its publicity. But, more than that, I had to understand his life and his soul. Ashtamudi lake is not as famous among tourists in KeralaBecause, as most of the tourists coming to Kerala prefer to live in Kollam or in Kovalam in the south. So some tourists prefer to live in northern parts such as Alpepi and Cochin.

Ashtamudi Lake - Kerala's Stable Water Source

Ashtamundi literally means 8 cones. Some people liken the stars to this quaint shape, some of them say the size of the octopus. But if you go to the Internet and see the map of the Ashtamudi lake then it looks a bit strange. After seeing this, you can decide for yourself that it should be appropriate to give an example.
As soon as we reached Kollam, we went to our hotel and after washing our hands, we got prepared for lunch. Hamra Khana was organized on the special boat of the hotel. The food was arranged only for both of us on this big boat. As soon as our boat started moving slowly on the calm, stable water of Ashtamudi Lake, the staff on the boat started serving us food.
All this was like a dream. When we were eating food, seeing my surroundings, I felt that all the scenes of nature, such as presenting a special movie for us. This view was really gorgeous. As our boat passed through the boundaries of the lake, going from one corner to the other, I began to understand the size of the lake.

Goddess of lights

While touring the lake we found a woman holding a torch was seen in which the goddess of light was called. People here consider him the local form of 'Statue of Liberty'. In fact, perhaps it will be working as a lighthouse for floating boat, so that they do not wander their way. The idol of this obese woman, which is considered to be European with its distinctive shape, can be seen from a distance. Some sailors say that this idol is a way of reminding the mariners to remind their family and wife whom they have left behind for their business. Below this statue, there is a small information board on which the 'Goddess of light' is written. From my viewpoint, every person who is present here explains it according to his own accord. But apart from all these different ideas, one thing is certain that this statue attracts the attention of the audience by dissolving the discontent of water, greenery and sky. Ignore this beautiful statue It's a bit difficult.

Fishing nets
While walking on the Ashtmudi lake, as we were moving forward, we gradually began to see the Chinese fishing nets which are now found everywhere. Hanging on the water from the side of the lake seemed to be very attractive. Seeing them, it seemed as if somebody caught the sieve of giant tea in hand. These nets are often put together in one line. This view is truly unique, which attracts many photographers. This happy view makes these photographers the day. And you are lost in taking pictures of them from different perspectives. If you face these pictures while talking about the coastal region of Kerala, then it will not be a surprise. In some places these nets are placed in the center of the lake. But in most places, this trap is seen only on the side of the lake. On seeing from a distance, these traps look very ordinary, but seeing passes and seeing them shows how complex their texture is.

Color boats
Colorful fishing boats were kept near beautiful houses situated on the banks of Ashtamudi Lake. And all the fishing traps were sitting on the banks of the lake, resting, which was again awaiting the new enthusiasm to stand in the water after sunset.

The clean environment surrounding this lake is home to many birds. It was very entertaining to see the birds flying from one place to another in the lake.

Special houseboat for tourists
There are special houseboats for tourists who make them visit the entire lake. Some such boats were passing in front of us, in which only a few people were noticed. These boats were never filled with people. Seeing this, I came to my mind that, either we will be in the less crowded part of the lake, or this lake will be so big that you can spend time alone in solitude anywhere in peace. The sun and the clouds were also creating unique scenarios for us from us. Coconut and palm trees were also determining the boundaries of water and sky areas from their green color. The island present in this lake was seen floating on water similar to the green spheres.

Some facts related to Ashtamudi lake
Ashtamudi Lake Clam is a major center for fisheries. There is an annual production of 10,000 tonnes of clam fish. Most of which are exported. According to Ramsar Convention, this important is counted in the list of international wetland.
You must definitely read the 'Hindu Article' written on the fisheries which tells about the development and sustainable fisheries here. The best thing about the environment of this lake is that, he takes full care of his tourists and tourism economics during the day, and at night he becomes a fisherman's area. These fishermen lay their nets at night, so that they can get good and fresh fish in their grip the next morning. At present, tourists' boats are not allowed to roam in Ashtmudi Lake.

Lake Ashtamudi comes from the river Kallada, which originated in Ponmudi mountains. This is Kerala's second largest eschurine ecosystem.

The longest stretch of stationary water tours in Kerala is between Ashtamudi Lake and Alappuzha. It takes about 8 hours to travel this entire edge. And now the journey to this coast will be on the top of my wish list.

I can not say correctly, but perhaps Ashtamudi Lake must have played an important role in the business of Kerala's monkeys.

Local traffic boats
On the second day in the evening, we were comfortably watching the boats running in the lake sitting in my room. The long and big boats in them were being eaten from both ends. These boats were taking the families living near this lake from one end to the other. Apart from these there were excellent houseboats which are a major attraction of Kerala tourism. The boat we were traveling in the past was now trying to reconcile the beautiful scenes of sunset in our frameworks.
Many years have passed for Ashtamundi Sarovar, but even today my memories associated with it are as fresh as it was time to say goodbye.
