1000 Followers – Thank you!!! This I learned about Steemit and my goals (Part 2)

I’ve truly been blessed with the overwhelming amount of support & kindness the platform and its users have shown me.

Where do I start? There are so many people to thank and so many nice people I met due to this platform since I started nine months ago, my baby really grew!
Like most members of this unique community I was not an investor and started at zero, with almost no computer experience.
Those who’ve been following me from the start know I almost quit one more than one occasion.
My goal to use my blog as a one-stop spot for travel junkies to share tips, tricks and stories in order to help people around the world and create a trusted network of travelers, did not succeed at all in the beginning. But I am very happy that I still put in the work, because by now I am really enjoying the platform and if you ask me it did not reach its full potential by far.
So to everybody who second guesses the decision on still putting in the time and content, just keep going!!

This post will be about my goals on Steemit for the future and about the things I learned so far,

Lessons learned
I am on Steemit for nine months now and there are things I like and don’t like. This post will be about just that and the goals I have to help Steemit grow.

Newbie Support
I really try to give back to Steemit, so a few times a week I look at the introduce yourself tag and upvote people that have the same interests, I then look at what they are posting next to decide on following them. For almost everybody Steemit is frustrating when you are new so give people that join some love!

No Follow to follow
This is probably the thing I dislike most about Steemit, please don’t ask people to follow you, they will if they think you are worth it, what you should look for is meaning full connections. By now I met so many nice people who I would love to meet in person, only because we genuinely like each other’s content, are you really able to follow several thousand people? I know I don’t, so just find the people you like following.

Dont give up!
Many promising bloggers stopped because they did not get the reward they expected when they started. In the beginning I was close on quitting many times but I am glad I did not. I really believe in the potential of the platform. So my advice if blogging and posting is not your hobby and you think you can earn money easily don’t even start.
Just enjoy the many quality post you can read for free and if you like them don’t be shy to reward the author.

Fulltime job
If you really want to see your blog grow and use the full potential it has, you have to put in the work. I believe that putting in your time and energy fulltime will really benefit your account. To me Steemit is all about connecting with people. I put in around 15 hours a week, that is writing content and interacting and responding to other people. I work 40+ hours a week so it’s not realistic for me to put in more time, my ultimate goal will be working a day less to use for Steemit.
The best example of the guy that really decided to change his approach is @world-travel-pro, he (like me) at first just wanted to share his stories but noticed he did not have to time to connect with everybody so he decided to focus on Steemit fulltime and now his account really took off.
So please remember be patient regarding your account grow.

Goals
As mentioned I enjoy the platform more and more and have many ideas on how I can contribute more the platform and am really excited about on what the future will bring. The upcoming months I have some goals I like to accomplish so my account will be more enjoyable for the people that follow me.

Interviews
I really like connecting with people, that’s why my goal will be to have fact-to face meet up with fellow Steemers and interview them about their travel preferences. My goal will be to post an interview every month.
My first interview was with @juliank and I really enjoyed meeting up.

I also really like the work @travelfeed puts in, they create a platform for travel-minded people.

More appealing post
I know we live in a rushed world an people don’t really have time anymore to read everything they won’t, therefore my other goal will be to present my posts the best way I can and I think I can do a better job on making my posts more appealing. I am very bad using computers but I will try!
My first step to reach this goal was to create an avatar made by @skyleap. He is really good and fast! Love his work. Thanks again!

Languages
I would really like to offer my post in multiple languages to cater more people on the platform, so right now I am saving some money to invest in people that can translate my posts! Really looking forward to the moment I can add a language. Don’t know if this goal is realistic but he, let’s keep in dreaming.

More travel content
I also would like to share more post when I am om the road, last year I only had a holiday in total for three weeks, so I mostly share travel memories and best travel-destinations. My goal for the next year will be being on the road and post about in order to create more unique content. The good par is I was able to save some money to prepare for the decision to change my life completely. I also signed up for a TEFL course yesterday in order to be able to teach English as a foreign language.

Reputation Score
I just got up to reputation score 60! A great milestone, which took a lot of work! I have for months left before I am a member on Steemit for a year and my goal is to get up to 65 when I celebrate my first birthday here!
