Travelling with my wife: The Harry Potter studio
A few years ago, when we were visiting London, we wanted to see the Harry Potter studio. Actually, the studio was the main reason why we wanted to travel there. I think that my wife is a bigger Potter fan than me, I have seen only the movies, but she has read the books many times as well.
Warner Bros´ Harry Potter studio is the place where all the movies were filmed. Now you can find there many of the iconic sets, props and costumes that were created especially for the films. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the studio from London. We took a train from London Easton to Watford Junction and a bus from there to the studio (there is a shuttle bus service from Watford station to the studio). You have to pre-book studio tour tickets online, because you can only get inside if you have booking confirmation. We bought our tickets a couple of months earlier and there were just a few tickets left (I think it was summer holiday season..).
When we got there, we were told that the tour would take about 3 hours. We didn´t believe it at first, but we realized quite fast how big that studio is! In the end, we were there almost 4,5 hours. Also tasted the butterbeer. If you are even a little bit interested in Harry Potter, you will love the studio.
And now, plenty of photos: Can you recognise the sets?

In the end of the tour, there were scale model from Hogwarts.
Oh wow! I would like to go there soooo much! I'm a huge fan of Potter, I also read the books thousands of times. :P
Can highly recommend traveling there! I think that tickets were a bit expensive, but totally worth it.
How much was it then?
If I remember right, it was 70-80 euros per person (but we had extra digital guides).
Right, quite expensive but probably absolutely worth it! :D
Absolutely!
Harry Potter studio... this made me so jealous!!🤤 I could live in Hogwarts. 😛✨
I think that my wife said the same... :D
I definitely want to go here as well now. Thanks for sharing! I have been in one of the shooting locations in a castle close to the bordr with Schotland. About 2 hrs from Edinburgh. Really an adventure as well! Maybe for a next time 😉
Do you remember the name of the castle? Edinburgh has been one of those places I always wanted to see, it would be fun to organize a roadtrip to that castle when visiting there (I think that my list of must see places just gets longer and longer). But can definitely recommend visiting Potter studio!
I think it was Alnwick Castle and I would also very much recommend the chocolate shop close to the exit in the centre of the village. The lady that served me a hot cocoa gave me the best chilli chocolate truffles I ever had! Felt a bit like trying a chocolate frog for the first time...
