Incredible India : Dudhsagar Falls

Dudhsagar waterfalls are one among the top five highest waterfalls in India and top 100 waterfalls in the world.
It is India's tallest waterfalls with a height of 1017 feet and an average width of 100 feet. It's also called as literally Sea of Milk. Dudhsagar Falls is located on the Mandovi River in the Indian state of Goa.It is located on the Madgaon-Belagavi rail route about 46 km east of Madgaon and 80 km south of Belagavi. Its 60km from Panaji by road.

The water fall is at its peak flow during the monsoon months from June to September and wanes out towards the summers from March to june.Best time to visit Dudhsagar Waterfalls is During monsoon or soon after monsoon is the best period to visit the falls, as they are in their most rebellious phase of flow.

Trekking, swimming, rock climbing and elephant rides this activities can be enjoyed in Dudhsagar waterfalls.
Deer,Squirrel,Gaur,Panther,Wild Boar,Wild Dog,Sambar this animalas we can see here.Occasionally, Tigers have also been seen, but the area is famous for King cobras though other snakes found are Python,Viper etc.
as well as non-poisonous snakes. About 200 species of birds are found in the sanctuary of which the better known ones are Indian Black Woodpecker,the Malabar Pied Hornbill, Paradise Fly Catcher, Fairy Blue Bird, Drongo, Wag tails, Barbets, Great Indian Horn Bill, Kingfishers, Shrikes, Emerald Dove, Grey Jungle Fowl etc.

Their are so many small waterfalls like given in below picture, where we can enjoyed a lot.

How to Reach Waterfalls:-

By Road: The NH4A highway leads to Dudhsagar. There are buses run by Goa tourism.Other than this, private tour
operators also run buses following specific or demanded itinerary covering fixed spots,
of which Dudhsagar is one.Jeeps can be driven through the base of the water falls.

By Air: Panaji airport is 60kms away from the waterfalls. Taxies and buses are available for Dudhsagar Waterfalls.

By Rail: there is a station called the Dudhsagar near Dudhsagar Waterfalls. 1.5km away from Waterfalls but no trains
formally halt here. They stop for a 1 minute to check with their technicalities, breaks etc.
The nearest station is Collem, taxies are available from there to the waterfalls which is at a distance of hardly
6kms. The train journey is most preferred.
