Christmas on NECKER ISLAND

This Christmas was the first one I have spent in Vancouver since I moved here back in 2013. I have spent Christmas in many places but it was 2015 that was a highlight festive season of mine as I was lucky enough to spend it down in the British Virgin Islands on Richard Bransons private Island, Necker Island.

I was employed on the Island over the holidays, in the activities department, assisting guests with sailing, paddle boarding, tennis, volleyball and any other sport that was requested during their stay.

The activities shed

Each day would start with some tennis at around 7am with a few of the guests before they head off to breakfast. I would then start to organise some activities for late morning to early afternoon before lunch. A Hobie cat race to Saba Rock for a milkshake, a hike aorund the island, a paddle board session, a speed boat over to the cliff jump, some volley ball. Absolutely anything that was required to plain and simply...HAVE FUN!!!

It was not my first time on the Island and this time it was looking a lot more festive than in the past. We spent some time decorating the main areas of use, which included the tennis centre:

The animals are still roaming the island in full force and you will regularly see the lemurs, tortoises, flamingos, the parrots by the tennis centre and the Island dog, Miso.

Time off was always a bonus as you could explore the Island and if areas were free you were welcome to use them at your leisure, so long as there were no guests around.

All in all a very memorable Christmas and a great experience in Paradise!
