Lindau Lighthouse, Germany: Lindau Lighthouse is located on Lake Constance, Lindau, the southernmost point of Germany. It was completed in 1856. The 33-meter-tall building is more special than the other lighthouses by attaching a huge clock that people can see from the city. The lighthouse was converted to electricity by 1936, and had automatic mechanisms in the early 1990s. Fanad, Ireland: After a large ship sank in 1804, Fanad Peninsula residents demanded to build a lighthouse on land. In 1818, the lighthouse was higher than 27 meters and was completed. In 1909, a new lamp was installed, running on the clock's rotation, so the light was blinking 6 times every 15 seconds. The system operated until 1975, when the lights were replaced. Yaquina Lake, Oregon, USA: This magnificent tower is said to be the oldest building in Newport, Oregon, located on the shores of Yaquina Bay. Yaquina was completed in 1871. But after only three years, it was deactivated after a new lighthouse was built. In 1946, it was planned to be demolished but the Lincoln County Historical Society collected money to preserve it. In 1951, Yaquina Lighthouse was recognized as a historical monument, operating as a museum for the county during 18 years. In 1970, the lighthouse became a National Historic Landmark and was remodeled in accordance with the Law of Historic Preservation.
