7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge – Australian Monday week #20 – winner announcement!

@mibreit-photo Australian Monday entry:

The spectacular view from the top of Roy's Peak on New Zealand's south island. It's 1400meters up from the car park just a few miles outside of Wanaka. I was up there for sunset and was the only person staying in the freezing November winds. It was great to have such a view for myself :-)

One of my favorite trips I've taken over the last few years was to Israel last June. Tel Aviv is located on the western coast of Israel and borders the Mediterranean Sea. For my first trip here, I decided to book a hotel right along the boardwalk and the ocean. It's a decision I'm so happy I made. Every night I was treated to views like this when I stepped out of my hotel room.

This is a shot of the 2007 grounding and subsequent helicopter evacuation of 22 Filipino and Korean crew members form the Pasha Bulker of Newcastle (2 hours north of Sydney) Australia and a very angry Pacific Ocean. Record ocean swell heights of 14.13m (46ft) were recorded at the deep water buoy 10km (6.2 miles) off Sydney

Wow, what a moment captured! The splashes... can’t believe I was swimming in the same sea by Newcastle...

Yes it was a wild few days.

Wow what an amazing storm that was. Caught some of the most insane waves of my life that swell! Good memories :)

Yes the waves were epic

To see icebergs in Greenland is the dream of many people. For our freedivers team this was also the purpose of our trip. But on the tops of the icebergs, we certainly did not stop. We became one of the first people in the World who saw the beauty and grandeur of the underwater part of the ice giants

Wow! That really is something out of this world!

For a diver, there is nothing more desirable than seeing a huge shadow appearing in the water. Whale sharks, manta rays, whales ... They represent the ocean itself. On a dive, you always peer into the distance. Sometimes you're lucky. Then you have to swim with all your might. Because the slowness of the sea giants is an illusion. They are almost not moving to leave you far behind.
Indian Ocean.
Whale shark

Amazing capture... we have these magnificent creatures at Isla Holbox here in Mexico, I think I will book the tour :)

Mexico is a dream)
There are many places where you can swim with whale sharks. But in one place there are a lot of them. As far as I know in the season, hundreds of sharks gather near the island Mujeres.

You are right, Isla Mujeres (the Island of Women :D) is also known for abundant marine life :) I wish I had your skills and equipment man... it was just yesterday when I was swimming with green sea turtles, saw a giant purple ray, barracudas and much more... you have an amazing job/hobby Andrey ;)

What an image, what a creature! You do have some amazing encounters in your life! Well done. Tomas

@czechglobalhosts
It's great that you chose an underwater photograph at this stage)
@photofreediver is my good friend (his name is also Andrew). We often travel and dive together.

Another winter shot from the frozen Baltic Sea coastline. This time from Curonian spit at colourful sunset. Low angle point with ultra wide angle lens making the perspective very interesting. And wit a small silhouette of a man far away...
Nice contrast of cold and warm

Enjoy it!

Nice view. .

Your pics from Baltic never disappoints!

Just imagine if i would travel to real Antarctica :D

The rain is coming from the northern Australian sea to the land and I'm contemplating this seascape with its wonderful shades and colours.
Later there will be a firework of lightning in the sky as every night during rain season... What a show!!!

Location: Darwin, Australia.

Amazing colors! Again I put Darwin on the top of my list :) So close yet so far...

You definitely should visit Darwin, it is a spectacular place for unrealistic sunset sighting

What the colors! Splendid!

A shot taken just after the sunset somewhere in the Lofoten Islands. The Lofoten Islands are located in the Norwegian Sea, above the Arctic Circle and features incredibile landscape of majestic mountains, deep fjords and great opportunity to spot the northern lights.

I love the colors of your image. Splendid. Have a great day and keep on steeming. Tomas

We didn't see a whole lot of sun whilst we were in Antarctica, but when it did come out, the sky lit up with beautiful warm hues and the sunlight hit the ice on the water and illuminated it in a brilliant blue.

Lovely pic! Have a great day. Tomas

Cape St. Vincent

The lighthouse of Cabo de São Vicente was about 6 km from our base in Sagres. Driving to the lighthouse, I have noticed the changes in the weather. A storm was coming. On the cape the wind was such strong, so I hardly could stay in place. The waves was big and powerful. While I was gazing at the waves, the light had changed, the sun hid behind a cloud, and the very strong sunbeams pierced the sky. Absolutely ethereal moment!

Wow, another amazing image of yours! Fabulous entry. Tomas

Thank you Tomas! I like to participate in your contests. There are such the great photos from around the worlds and amazing photographers to follow.

I haven’t been to the Antarctica, so I’m sharing a photo of massive blue ice and mountains that I took during the trip to Grey Glacier in southern Chile. This glacier is part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field, the world’s second largest contiguous ice field outside of the poles.

I really wanna go here 😉 .. it’s already on my bucket list! Was it really cold here ?

Yes it was cold, and incredibly windy! :)

That is a spectacular image indeed! Tomas
