Vintage Uniforms of Flight Attendants

in #travel7 years ago (edited)

Being a flight attendant is just about serving meals and being there for safety but also for the love of fashion! We all love flight attendants uniform- the scarves, hat, gloves. Now we look back where it all came from.

In the 60's I believe equality among race and gender has just started. Being conservative has slowly evolve thus women started wearing mini skirts. Pastel colors are in during this time.

1970's

We all know the fashion back in 70's-funkyness! Flight attendants then wore neon colored uniforms plus boots! Lets not forget the hair.

After the colorful and funkyness of 60's and 70's, the uniform goes back to basics. I think the designers have seen the importance of the professionalism in the uniform too! Many companies had their uniforms couture!

Emirates

When the 2000 started, companies started looking for their brand. Thus uniforms have their own identities! When we see a cabin crew in the airport, we know which airline she works for.

Commonalities are the hat which have own design like the ones from middle east companies like Emirates and Etihad. The color like red, some reminded us of Virgin air and Air Asia.

I hope uniforms will get more classy as time goes by. Thanks for stopping!
All the love,
Claire

I am always enamored when flight attendance pass the airport hallways in groups. They look so nice always. Interesting to know their fashion sense of older days.
