RE: You let strangers stay in your house? Why couchsurfing rocks!

in #travel6 years ago

That's so cool👍, if you ever been to Aceh, Indonesia. A place that you can stop by like yours is Gampong Nusa, my friend provide the whole houses in that village to accept strangers especially tourists who want to live like them for a couple of days.

I think that what you've said in this post is a very generous action and good information for solo travellers too. Especially the do's and don't. Thinking about inviting strangers as guests and shared life experinces and story with them is very interesting too.

Thanks for sharing this with us, thank you @honeysim for guiding us to this. I found your post through the pay it forward contest this week.

It sounds like your friend is really creating a great space for people to experience something different. I am not sure I see this as generous, as I tried to explain, I think we get more from people who we host than they get. They get a bed and a warm shower, we get to meet new people and get experiences and stories from them that we would never know ourselves.
Please look into couchsurfing, even if you do it once in your life, it will be worth it.

FYI: we sometime let the strangers stay for a nite in our house, for humanity reasons 😊 in my religion, we believe that to honour the guests (strangers or not) is a must (not for unexpected guests like thieves☺) is the best way to "light" your house.

Thanks for your reply and I will check the couchsurfings..

@cicisaja I hope to visit Indonesia some day....good to know that such opportunity exists there....just thinking about it makes me excited, lol....thank you for stopping by and showing Garth some support. He deserves it.

Are you in Japan now @honeysim? What about the kyoto earthquake?

Yeah I am....it was felt mostly in Osaka, I believe. I am not located in the region in which it happened. But based on what I have read so far three persons lost their lives and over 100 persons were injured. Knowing Japan, they are going to bounce right back from all the damage. I just pray for the families who lost loved ones in the incident and that they will find comfort somehow.

Japan is well-known for their emergency respond and disaster management, many Acehnese get their master degree on Disaster Msnagement subject in Japan. I pray for them ...

Yeah, that is so true. Thank you for asking @cicisaja. :-)
