According to enthusiasts and hikers, the track that leads to the Devil’s Staircase can be classified as one of the leading hiking trails of Sri Lanka. This particular route is both adventurous as well as exciting but it is considered as highly safe. In addition to a hiking track, this particular route is also a jeep track and tourists can enjoy a jeep ride to the site. The entire distance of this particular hike route is 13 kilometers and even though it is possible to accomplish this by foot, it is said that only experienced hikers will engage in this. Hikers state that the route includes several difficulty levels but the remarkable backdrop and scenery captivates the heart.

This tourist destination is filled with a number of other natural attractions that are both beautiful and glorious. The Bambarakanda Waterfalls, one of the largest and popular waterfalls of the island, is situated a brief distance away from the Devil’s Staircase. Travelers can take the Horton Plains and Ohiya road, which is one of the primary roads in the surrounding region, and access the tourist destination. The lush tropical vegetation includes a number of attractive flora species, some of which are endemic to the country. Small species of mammals and other animals can also be occasionally spotted.
