The desert hills in Lima (Perú- Southamerica) become green in winter
Hello steemit friends
As I told you in my last post, my city -Lima- is in the desert. But our desert hills become green during our autumn and winter, because of the high humidity during those seasons (Lima has more than 90% humidity).
We call those hills "lomas". Many years ago we had more "lomas" surrounding Lima but because of population growing and contamination our "lomas" area are decreasing. Some neighborhoods and organizations are working to protect this areas from illegal invasions, and tourism is its main tool to protect and generate income to the people who live near this lomas.
I love to visit those "lomas" and walk around those hills, watch birds and enjoy the green landscape . I always look for green areas in Lima, because we don't have to many of those.
Lomas Quebrada Verde
In the south of Lima.
the green hills and the city
Love to hike this hills
Lomas San Juan de Miraflores
it is always foggy in winter
Housing grows every year in the hills
If you visit Lima someday during the winter/autumn/spring and you like hiking and nature you should visit one of our lomas. Let me know if you need some tips or info.
