Pool Cave | A Perfect Stopover after The Beach | Philippines at its Finest
Heat in the Philippines
We all know that the Philippines is a tropical country though it rains, the heat is just so powerful that even a minute after a shower, your sweat will drop nonstop. Maybe because the climate is changing and the air has become polluted. Trees were being cut but were not replaced. More places had become industrialized and no proper waste disposal from big factories causes pollution.
Whenever I go home to our beautiful country, the heat has always been my complaint as the humidity makes your body sweat and it feels so sticky. But wait, though the heat in our country is immense, God made it equal that he blessed us with so many beautiful natural resources like beaches, waterfalls, rivers, lagoon, lakes and many more.
Beaches!!! Who love bitches beaches?! I’m super thankful that my hometown is near to Surigao del Sur where beautiful virgin white & black sand beaches are located. This is the third time that I am sharing my trip to Surigao del Sur! Previously I shared My trip to the Enchanted River and Tinuy-an Falls. Believe it or not, aside from the beautiful beaches, waterfalls and rivers, Surigao del Sur is also offering free access to their very cold pool in the cave.
Cold Pool in the Cave
Since I was a kid, upon going home from the beach, we always stopped by to this cave. Well, we do not wash ourselves after swimming at the salty beach. Lols. We always request to stop at the cave where we can wash. Who would not want to swim in this lovely pool cave for free? Locals call it LANGOB in Bisaya which means cave. It is located at Barobo, Surigao del Sur, Philippines. The cave is just beside the highway, and it is at a lower level. There’s a stiff cemented path towards the pool. Most tourists prefer to swim here to wash out the sands. By the way, the water came from the spring located inside the cave. It is believed that no one has ever made it inside the cave as it is very deep and dark.
The water is just so refreshing because of its coldness. The water is flowing nonstop, so they made a big hole so that the water will flow to the other side of the road flowing towards the sea. Its water is so clear and very clean. I salute the locals for maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of the cave. The cave is divided into two. One is not deep where kids can enjoy and swim and the other side is deep where diving is allowed.
I've been to this cave uncountable times and this is the first for my husband and daughter. My daughter loves to swim and this stopover made her very happy not minding the coldness. After a hot day at the beach, this pool is a must go to refreshen up. A big shout out to the locals for having people in this cave for free and yet the maintenance is praisable. Seeing the beauty of the cave and the pool not exploited makes my heart happy.
Thank you and wishing you all the best!
