solo travel to Palawan (Island in Philippines)

in #travel8 years ago

Flying from Manila to "Palawan" on Christmas was quite an experience. In fact, it was also my very first solo trip and I can assure you that it changed my life, this was the first island that I visited so it has a special place in my heart and I would love to share this with you all.

First of all, I highly recommend using "Cebu airlines" from Manila. I paid $15.00 roundtrip. I stayed there for few days, if you go make sure you have cash with you. The only ATM's that you can find are in Puerto Princesa.

Palawan means “The Land of Beautiful Safe Harbor” and it really is - it is a must do destination. Some of the must do in Palawann are: Underground River, Reef Coral Garden & Banana Island

I needed time for myself during that time of the year, a place to re-think my life and truly I found it in this little island.

When I saw this cow, I was actually jealous. What a life I thought!

The best part of every trip is meeting locals and having fun with them. They are beautiful people, love music & love dancing! (me with the guitar)

This is is the view I had from outside my hotel - wanna go? I will be your best trip advisor/tour guide!

Thanks - EL Nido, Palawan! Three time more beautiful than Thailand ! I hope you can go at your first opportunity!

I need to go to the philippines some day. My older brother was born there.

Way cool! I am sure you will. There have so many islands, it's insane.
#1 Palawan(go North) #2 Boracay #3 Leguspi (visit in that order)...great diving, food and people!

I have been in China for nearly 3 years and have only left the Nanjing to Shanghai region only once for Beijing. That's sad. I need to travel more widely.

That's great. definitely add it to your list. I've been to China many times, but only to the cities need to go more to the South region like Sichuan (Chengdu).

Just a friendly bit advice, since you are new here (says the guy who has only been here since sept.). I see you only tagged "Travel" and a few others with this post. if you add a few more tags, like "photography" and a few others, your posts will get more traffic. You can use up to five, and the first works as the primary.

Many thanks for the advice, I will keep that in mind ;) still a newby -

Looks like a great place, upvoted and followed :)
