Visiting the city- Sharing challenge - Prague/Czech Republic #2

in #travel7 years ago

It is mandatory that you visit the astronomical clock, and specifically look at:

  • The astronomical quadrant, which in addition to indicating the 24 hours of day, represents the positions of the sun and the -
moon in the sky, as well as other astronomical details.

  • The animated figures that include "The Walk of the Apostles", a clockwork mechanism that shows, when the clock gives the hours, the figures of the twelve Apostles.

  • The circular calendar with medallions representing the months of the year.

It is a pity that I do not have any pics about the Apostoles. :(

The Charles bridge.

With more than 500 meters of length and 10 of width, the Charles Bridge had in its day 4 lanes destined to the passage of carriages. Currently it is pedestrian.
In the place from where it was thrown to the water San Juan Nepomuceno is its statue. It is said that whoever asks for a wish by putting his left hand in the representation of his martyrdom (at the base of the statue), it will be granted.

Crossing the bridge we will find, besides the statues, stands and artists trying to make a living.IMG_20161207_103127_773.jpg
