TRIP TO TARKARLI

Mumbai to Tarkarli

So this Journey happened in the Summer of 2017 when four of us decided to travel to a place close to Goa called Tarkarli beach. It is in Malvan Village in Indian state of Maharashtra. The Journey began with quite the thrill when our friend lost his wallet before we could board the Bus. It is about 540 Kms from Mumbai and it took us about 11 Hours to reach the destination.

And this is what we saw at the very first glance

This is one of the untouched beaches in India where you will find crystal clear water. This place is a perfect getaway from all the city noise and chaos. The beaches are serene and waters are pristine.

We got a Homestay accommodation for four of us at a very reasonable rate and the view was amazing.

And the house looks this haunted at night...

Just kidding

There are a lot of fishermen boats where you can sit and relax and enjoy some cold beer and the view while playing some music on the guitar.

The adventurous sports are established stops and a must try on the traveler trail. The waters at Malvan are home to many fishermen and tiny little cottage resorts surrounded by coconut trees are the best getaways. We had fun doing Parasailing, Camel Ride, Jet Skiing and Scuba Diving.

Parasailing

It was my first Parasailing experience and it was thrilling. I had fear in my mind before putting on the Chute. I was standing on the edge and looking down to death. And as the boat went faster the parachute filled with air and in one second I was in the air so high. It was the most blissful experience of my life, I was flying.

Malvan Crab Curry

The fiery crab curry is spicy but is quite tasty. It's served with Chapati and Solkadhi. Solkadhi is the pink coloured drink to soothe our stomach after the hot meal. The crab was fresh out of the sea and it was delicious.

Very good timing with your pictures and your story line guided me right though your journey. That was fun. What kind of fish is that? Sure is a lot, whatever they are. And the crab, too! I’d like to visit India now. You’re followed now. Should I make it to India, I know who to reach out to for a tour guide.

Thank you so much. I'm glad you liked it. The fish is known as Bombay Duck/Bombil and it tastes delicious. Sure, if you ever plan to visit India, do let me know. Also, you and your family are welcome to stay with us. My mother makes authentic Indian food that I'm sure you'd love.

You’re the kindest person I’ve never met today!

Thank you so much for saying that.

Thank you very much for sharing such an interesting and exciting story! I was very interested in reading about your trip. When I saw a photo with a parachute, I even stopped breathing for a few seconds, imagining that It was me flying so high :) The boats on the beach are very beautiful. In Russia there are no such boats. I always dreamed of visiting India. I always liked Indian culture and I read a lot about India when I was in school. Then I became interested in Indian philosophy and almost read Sri Aurobindo's book, it was very hard :) I am pleased that we met and started to communicate.

Gratitude. Haha trust me, even I stopped breathing for a second when I went up. You can always visit India I'd be happy to give you our hospitality. There are thousands of temples and thousands of gods, Indian culture is vast and interesting. I'm happy to know you are so interested in Indian philosophy And that makes two of us, I'm glad that we started communicating.

Mutually ;)
